How's the Kimber?
Hi, SoC, how do you find your Kimber pistol? Why'd you choose it over the Glock 20 when the latter has 15 rounds to the Kimber's 8? Do you use it for handgun hunting?

When you mentioned that M1911s can be nice-looking, I was reminded of another model you may be interested in.  While bog-standard 1911s may not look much more than pragmatically pretty, try this for one that could take the cake for looks (and sticker shock). A review can be found here as well. For some reason, STI International is also offering collector's guns that have a gold finish that is actually Titanium Nitride for more durability than actual gold. --Mazryonh 19:31, 7 August 2010 (UTC)
:A Friend of mine recently sold his Springfield Operator and got a Kimber and he says it's better than the Springfield, which is not a shock. I already had a Glock 29 10mm and i am still planning on building a Glock 20 in a 6" barrel...but the 1911 is a beautiful gun that is super accurate and fits in the hand better then any 20sf could. Plus I love kimbers and already had one in a .45 acp, but i am a HUGE fan of the 10mm...God bless Jeff Cooper!--Spades of Columbia 20:55, 7 August 2010 (UTC)

:Well, if you like the M1911 platform that much, you could always save up for the STI Perfect 10 I linked to. So if you're going to get a Glock 20, is it going to be the short frame version? Are you going to accessorize your new Glock 20, with a laser/weaponlight combo perhaps? Is your Glock 29 a short-frame version as well? If you like the 10mm round, are you going to help others see its benefits? It's one of the more underappreciated "combat-practical" cartridges around, after all. --Mazryonh 15:13, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

:Not that there is any thing wrong with the STI, but when i am knowledgable enough to start my 1911 custom build up, i will mostly likely start with a Caspian lower because i can get one already set up for a ramped barrel that the 10mm needs.  The Glock 20 build up will be a bit easier, I'm going to purchase a standered Glock m20 lower (because then I can purchase a "SBR" tax stamp and put a stock on it, for they do not make one for the "SF" frame yet), then use lone wolf 6" slide and lone wolf 6" ported barrel for the upper.  No laser or light because i would like to use it for hunting and...well...thats just not legal sadly, but i will most likely use a Burris FastFire II as the sight system. I went with the full frame on the Glock 29 ( it just felt better, plus i got the extension plug for the palm, they dont make one for the SF). Since i live in the mountains of Montana were Grizzlies and Mountain Lions are a common problem and i do a variety of hunting the 10mm gives me the best possible ballistic out of a semi-auto pistol.  I use a 200gr solid that can reach 1347F.P.S out of even the shortest of my barrels.  When i am hiking or hunting i use the 15rd mag that gives me a full grip in the wilderness and then afterwards when i hit up a place to eat in town i put in the 10rd mag and it becomes easily concealable (which i have a permit for). The 1911's on the other hand I only carry and conceal on special occasions or when i am doing little gunsmithing projects at work.  As for the "combat-practical"...I have only had a few time in which I have had run ins with meth-heads or mountain folk in the wilderness...all in which i have never had to draw my weapon...even with the tensions i felt in those events...i still don't think the Combat aspect would imply to me.  The incounters were all within ten feet and never have there been more then three of them...so...no reloading, no need for high capacity...and there would have been no real need to aim...just point and shot kind of situations...like i said they never ascalate to that level but it would have been controlable either way.--Spades of Columbia 20:06, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Not alot of selection as far as ammo, but since I am a gun dealer in a store with a good amount of buying power, i keep alot of Federal 85gr hp in stock.  I keep that one because personally i dont want to shot lead out of my barrel and i just perfer a jacket. I also have a guy that does my reloading for my 10mm and i got him starting a load for the 32 h&R, so when thats done i will be shooting a 100gr HP from hornady.--Spades of Columbia 14:42, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the complement. If you are interested in seeing something similar to Exiled, I would recommend The Mission, which was also directed by Johnnie To and has many of the same actors. There's also Fulltime Killer, which features a ton of gun action and is a fun watch. --Markit 15:16, 23 September 2010 (UTC)

Meh, I needed to mix it up a bit. It was hard to cap, very dark, with shaky camera work. I couldn't get the pistol that Booger used in the end. And I can't ID the shotgun. There's also not a lot on IMDb about it. --Funkychinaman 16:37, 2 February 2012 (CST)
