USAS-12 Rate of Fire

I understand the USAS is full automatic, but in the film it seems to be firing at a rate I'd reckon to be 500 RPM or more, and that seems high for a shotgun. Maybe just a higher ROF sound effect over the slower firing gun? M14fanboy
