I only have it on VHS to date. Just watched it on Fox Movie Channel, and noticed that some of the actors are carrying Winchest Model 1873's. Constable Alvin Adams (Andrew Stevens) carries one when he shoots a deer with Sgt Edgar Millen (Lee Marvin) and Sundog (Carl Weathers), and is carrying one at the shootout at Albert Johnson's cabin. So is the man who gets his arm caught in a bear trap outside Johnson's cabin. There's a continuity error in the film, the scenes where Millen is opening his trunk and taking out weapons such as his Colt New Service revolver and 12 gauge Winchester pump shotgun, and has a leather shotgun shell belt over his shoulder when talking to Angie Dickinson before going out the door, are all when he's leaving to lead the posse of psycho trappers and his three Mounties to Johnson's cabin. But they have it inserted in the film to look like it's after the shootout when they're leaving to pursue Johnson. As much as I like this movie, I sure wish someone would make a movie based on the facts of The Mad Trapper of Rat River. The books on this guy are a fascinating story.
