The Blob is the 1988 remake of the 1958 B-movie horror film that starred Steve McQueen. The remake was directed by Chuck Russell (The Mask), who co-wrote the film with Frank Darabont.
The following weapons were used in the film The Blob:
MGC M16 replica
The US Army soldiers throughout the latter half of the film all use MGC M16 replica assault rifles (recognizable by the shapes of their forward assist) for the non-firing scenes. Both Brian Flagg (Kevin Dillon) and Meg Penny (Shawnee Smith) use them as well.
M16
When Meg Penny (Shawnee Smith) fires an M16 at the blob, it becomes a real M16 (SP1) with an M16A1-style flash hider. In most other scenes of the movie, the MGC replica M16s are used instead.
Smith & Wesson Model 10 M&P
Sheriff Herb Geller (Jeffrey DeMunn) and Deputy Bill Briggs (Paul McCrane) both carry Smith & Wesson Model 10 M&P revolvers.
Colt M1911A1
Colonel Templeton Hargis (Jack Rader) carries a Colt M1911A1 as his sidearm.
Hand Grenade
Colonel Hargis is shown to have two hand grenades attached to the front of his cleansuit. When he is engulfed by the blob at the film's climax, Hargis pulls the pins out in an attempt to take the monster with him.
M72 LAW
When Dr. Meddows traps Brian, Meg and one of his own injured soldiers (Bill Moseley) down in the sewer with the blob, Brian uses the soldier's M72 LAW to blast off the blocked manhole cover so the three can escape.
M2 Flamethrower
An army sergeant uses a what looks like a modified M2 Flamethrower against the blob during the creature's final attack on the town in the climax, but the blob causes the fuel tank on the soldier's back to explode, killing him and consequently burning Reverend Meeker (Del Close) who was standing nearby.
