''Note: This page predates current IMFDB policy regarding documentaries, and is allowed because it is considered "grandfathered."''
'''''Future Weapons''''' was a Discovery Channel pop-science documentary show that ran for three seasons from 2006-2008. The show was presented by the late [[Richard Machowicz|Richard "Mack" Machowicz]] and featured demonstrations of advanced weapons and period prototypes (including handheld weapons, mounted weapons, and military vehicles) coupled to what were often extremely optimistic claims about their performance. Many of the featured projects would later be canceled.

A | A conveniently built rifle based on the AR-15 platform, the KAC Personal Defense Weapon is available with an 8" or 10" barrel and fires a 6x35mm cartridge built for similar velocity to a 5.56mm round but able to fire from a shorter barrel. The gun has a side folding stock for easy concealment and an advanced muzzle brake which heavily cuts the huge muzzle flash expected from such a short barrel. The gun's recoil is very light so staying on target is easy, even when firing full auto. The gun was shown able to easily defeat body armor which a [[Heckler & Koch MP5A3]] could not.

Future Weapons was a Discovery Channel pop-science documentary show that ran for three seasons from 2006-2008. The show was presented by the late Richard "Mack" Machowicz and featured demonstrations of advanced weapons and period prototypes (including handheld weapons, mounted weapons, and military vehicles) coupled to what were often extremely optimistic claims about their performance. Many of the featured projects would later be canceled.

TDI Vector
The TDI Vector prototype was shown in its own segment of S2E10 "Close Quarter Combat," extolling the virtues of the weapon's off-axis delayed blowback operating system in reducing muzzle climb. It was referred to on the show as the "TDI Kriss," the earliest in a series of silly monikers applied to the Vector that ended with TDI changing its own name.

Knight's Armament PDW
A conveniently built rifle based on the AR-15 platform, the KAC Personal Defense Weapon is available with an 8" or 10" barrel and fires a 6x35mm cartridge built for similar velocity to a 5.56mm round but able to fire from a shorter barrel. The gun has a side folding stock for easy concealment and an advanced muzzle brake which heavily cuts the huge muzzle flash expected from such a short barrel. The gun's recoil is very light so staying on target is easy, even when firing full auto. The gun was shown able to easily defeat body armor which a Heckler & Koch MP5A3 could not.
