Ransom is a 1996 thriller directed by Ron Howard and stars Mel Gibson as an airline tycoon who finds that his son is kidnapped and sets off a dramatic set of circumstances when he turns the tables on the kidnappers. Ransom is actually a loose remake of a 1956 Glenn Ford film of the same name. The film's cast includes Rene Russo, Gary Sinise, Lili Taylor, and Delroy Lindo.
