::::Old topic, but what the hell. I'm fairly sure it is a Gewehrsprenggranate 30 (not a Gewehrpanzergranate 30, this is an anti tank variety with a hollow charge that looks slightly different and lacks the screw off rear section). As a rifle grenade it is impact fuzed, but the base of the grenade unscrews and contains a friction igniter just like on a stick grenade, so it could be used as a hand thrown grenade as well. Not much of the grenade is seen here, but the design of the rear cap seems to be a match, along with the yellow body of the grenade which was a distinguishing feature.  --commando552 (talk) 21:47, 17 August 2014 (EDT)

Stauffenberg's pistol
I'm just wondering what the source for Stauffenberg's P-35 and prosthetic chambering usage in real life is? I've seen a book (Joachim Fest's 'Plotting Hitler's Death') that claims that "Stauffenberg had managed to load his revolver by using the three fingers of his remaining hand and clamping the stump of his other arm against his hip" during the shootout just before the conspirators were arrested - no mention of Hi-Power or prosthetic hand - but because the book was originally written in German, 'revolver' seems to be a mistranslation of 'pistol' - Beck also shoots himself with a 'revolver' a few pages later. Just wondering what the consensus was.  Nototter (talk) 13:23, 17 August 2014 (EDT)

Unknown Grenade

I don't have time to research this properly. Does anyone know who this character/actor is and what this grenade type is? It doesn't have a head like most of the known German grenades. von Tresckow

I don't want to add this to the main page until I'm sure. - Gunmaster45

Confirmation would be appreciated ;) - Gunmaster45
Maybe it's a sawed down Model 24/43 that he made for the purpose of suicide, I can't imagine such a weapon like that with a purpose on the battlefield. --96.244.252.231 02:51, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
Oh yeah, above was me -I forgot to log in. --AdAstra2009 02:52, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

The short shaft makes me think it might not be a Stielhandgranate, but one of the various other versions. The German "potato masher" was 14 inches long, this Bulgarian one is 11 inches with a much bigger percentage of that the head:

And it's also possible it might be a Finnish M41 or even a Japanese grenade handle. Regardless, it looks like he's killing himself using just the detonator; this should project outside the grenade body, which supports the idea that this is something he made himself. Also, according to IMDB, that's Kenneth Branagh as Major-General Henning von Tresckow. Vangelis 03:48, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

rifle grenade is even historically correct. Branagh acts it out better some frames later (watch his eybrow).

why not refer to the bomb as well, since it is well researched too.

The grenade that Kenneth Branagh is holding is a Gewehrpanzergranate 30 also known as GewPzGr. 30 Rifle Grenade. - Phoenixent 18:05, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Error

In this picture there's written: "an SS officer...", he isn't an SS soldier. Look at the neck insignias, it has the Wehrmacht symbols. Pz.Abt.100 21:43, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

And when you see obvious mistakes like that, feel free to correct it as soon as you see it :) MoviePropMaster2008 04:25, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

For GM45's benefit ';)
