The Rookie is a 1990 action film directed by and starring Clint Eastwood as Nick Pulovski, a veteran detective in the LAPD's Auto Theft Division who finds himself paired with rookie detective David Ackerman (Charlie Sheen) as they try to take down an auto theft ring. Not to be confused with the 2002 Dennis Quaid baseball movie or the ABC television series of the same name.
