Jeremiah Johnson is a 1972 western / adventure film starring Robert Redford as the title character, a Mexican-American War veteran who leaves society and heads up to the Rocky Mountains to live the life of a mountain man. Jeremiah goes from green horn to mythical figure while on his trek. The film was written by John Milius and directed by Sydney Pollack, who also collaborated with Redford on Out of Africa, Three Days of the Condor, The Electric Horseman and Havana.
