Children of Men is a 2006 science fiction action thriller film loosely adapted from the P.D. James novel of the same name and set in a future where women have become infertile and the human race is on the verge of extinction. Clive Owen stars as a government bureaucrat in the now-totalitarian state of Britain, who is asked by his estranged wife to protect a young woman who could hold the key to the human race's future. The film was directed by Alfonso Cuarón.
