The Proposition (2005)

The Proposition is a 2005 period crime drama set in late nineteenth century Australia. In an attempt to civilize the land, Captain Stanley (Ray Winstone) proposes to Charlie Burns (Guy Pearce) that if he can find and kill his brother Arthur (Danny Huston), oldest and leader of the Burns Brothers gang, in nine days, he will save his younger brother Mikey (Richard Wilson) from being hanged on Christmas Day.

The following weapons were used in the film The Proposition:

Harrington & Richardson Premier 2nd Model .32 Pocket Top Break

Charlie Burns is armed with a small top break pocket revolver that resembles a Harrington & Richardson Premier 2nd Model. Judging by the size of the gun in Charlie's hand, it appears to be a five shot .32 or .38 caliber. In certain shots in the film, you can see the approximate size and that it has a square-back trigger guard, though it could have been manufactured by any one of a number of brands making similar guns in the late 1800's/early 1900's. The particular gun used in the film is also missing its front sight, indicating either the part itself is missing or that the barrel was shortened.
