Shane Black is an American screenwriter/director whose screenplays include the original Lethal Weapon (1987), The Long Kiss Goodnight, The Monster Squad, and The Last Boy Scout (the latter of which made headlines in the industry for being sold to Hollywood at a then-record price for a screenplay). Shane also has appeared as an actor in such films as Predator (1987) and RoboCop 3 and has since gone on to direct such films as Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Iron Man 3, and The Nice Guys. He would return to the Predator universe to co-write and direct the 2018 sequel The Predator.
