Walt Kowalski (Clint Eastwood) uses a Colt M1911A1 that he kept from the Korean War to scare the "Spooks" away from Thao's sister Sue Lor (Ahney Her), and is seen carrying it around in many scenes. It should be noted the handgun looks far too shiny and new for a fifty-year-old gun. However this, along with the condition of his Gran Torino, shows the meticulous care his character takes with his belongings. Walt carries it around in his belt without a holster.
