I'm bringing up these three, as they relate directly to the article. Mark was listed as "Mark Hamilton" and Kevin's .45 Auto was listed erroneously as a custom weapon, when we (fans) all know that Chief Irons is too cheap to have such weapons bought, and Kevin too broke (guy doesn't pay his bar tab) to do it himself. | I'm bringing up these three, as they relate directly to the article. Besides the colossal amount of "Melee" type weaponry, various firearms are featured in-game.
Firearms in this game are handled differently from previous Resident Evil Games. They suffer from damage drop-off, the further the enemy, the less damage that weapon will do. Also most weapons reload slowly, characters that are wielding high capacity weapons such as handguns or Machine Gun type weapons require Magazines to reload quickly, otherwise bullets are inserted individually into the magazine but are shown as if the bullets are inserted into the chamber of the weapon, possibly an inaccuracy on Capcom's part.

== Beretta 92FS (Handgun) ==
Said to be Standard for RPD Officers and is simply labeled as the "Handgun" in-game. The Beretta 92FS carries 15 rounds of 9x19mm bullets and is the most common firearm in the game. Kevin and Alyssa are capable of performing the "Pot-Shot" ability, which increases damage on a per shot basis.
Mark Wilkins, one of the Survivors of the game, carriers a customized Beretta that supposedly inflicts less damage than the other handguns, but the damage stays consistent at longer ranges than the traditional Handgun, it is named "Mark's Handgun" and cannot be transferred amongst Characters. He does however carry a Handgun Magazine as a bonus item which CAN be transferred amongst characters.
A Handgun Magazine can be found for this weapon in select stages that drastically reduces the reload time, however the Magazine is merely swapped out and that magazine must be reloaded with a new set of bullets to be used again.

== SIG-Sauer P228 (Handgun SG) ==
The SIG-Sauer P228 is one of the Handgun's commonly found in the "Flashback" Chapter and is called the "Handgun SG". It fires 9x19mm rounds in 13-round magazines. It feature's the worst damage drop-off, doing the most damage at close range. Unlike File #1, the Handgun SG does feature a magazine to reduce reload time.
Both Kevin and Alyssa can use their "pot-shot" ability to increase the damage on a per shot basis.
| |||
== Beretta 93R (Burst Handgun) ==
| |||
Called the "Burst Handgun" in-game, the Beretta 93R is found inside "Underbelly" Chapter and "Desperate Times" chapter's respectively. It carries 20 rounds a magazine and uses 9x19mm rounds. It fires in 3 round bursts only and does significantly less damage than the other handguns, however it can fire 3 times as fast doing 3 times the damage, so it counters this. The weapon fires in 3 rounds bursts when standing still, yet the weapon can fire in single shots when the character moves.
It feature's the same damage drop-off as the Beretta 92FS but lower accuracy as a result. Kevin and Alyssa can NOT use their "Pot-shot" ability to increase the damage of the weapon on a per shot basis. It feature's a "Burst Handgun Magazine" that can reduce the reload time.
== Colt M1911A1 (.45 Auto for Kevin) ==
The ".45 Auto for Kevin" seems to be an original run Colt M1911A1 Pistol. While the miniature item icon in-game shows brown wooden grips, both the promo shot and the actual in-game model have black grips.
In the game, the .45 Auto is the most powerful non-magnum handgun available. This time around, a magazine is available to rapidly reload the weapon (Kevin starts with one), however, ammunition for it (.45 Auto Rounds) is still relatively scarce. It has an accurately-depicted 7 round capacity magazine, making manual reloading relatively quick. Kevin can use his "Pot Shot" ability to increase the damage dealt with each shot by 4x, and the weapon features excellent damage drop-off at range, similar to Mark's Handgun. As this is Kevin's "Special Item," it cannot be given to any other character, but all "Kevin-Type" NPC's (Costumes) come equipped with it.

== S&W Model 36 "Chiefs Special" ==
The S&W Model 36 "Chiefs Special" is often the replacement weapon for the "Handgun" in some maps. It does more damage than the regular 92FS but has much less ammo, 5 rounds a piece and revolver ammo is notoriously difficult to find even though a single box provides 20 rounds, there also feature's a Speed Loader. It's featured in Hard Mode on the "Wild Things" chapter and can also be found in the "Flashback" chapter in Hard and Very Hard modes, but ammunition is almost non existent in that chapter, save for a half empty speed loader and a box of rounds with a varying number.
| |||
== Browning Hi-Power ==
The Browning Hi-Power is shown as the most common handgun on the "Desperate Times" Chapter, named the 'Handgun HP.' The magazine holds 13 rounds, like the P228. The weapon does feature a Magazine to speed up reloading. This is the best 9x19mm handgun in the game, doing 100% damage at all ranges, which is better than Mark's Handgun (which drops to 80% damage at long range).
| |||
== Glock 17 == | |||
The Glock 17 is featured in the "Underbelly" scenario under the name Handgun GL. It does exactly the same damage as Mark's Handgun, but has 2 rounds more in the magazine - 17 rounds - and does feature a "Handgun GL Magazine" to decrease reload time. However, it has significantly worse damage drop off than Mark's Handgun as at long range it only does 60% of the original damage while "Mark's Handgun" is 80%.

== S&W Model 29 (Magnum Revolver) ==
The S&W Model 29 is featured as the game's magnum revolver and is simply called "Magnum Revolver". It fire's .44 Magnum Bullets and features a 6 round capacity. It's the most powerful non-explosive weapon available, and the damage is increased even more when used by Kevin or Alyssa's Pot Shot ability, which doubles the power when used by Alyssa and by 4 times the original damage by Kevin.
A speed loader can be found for the Magnum Revolver that drastically reduces the reload time, but like the Handgun Magazine, the speed loader must be reloaded again before use.
| |||
== Desert Eagle (Magnum Handgun) ==
The Desert Eagle, also known as the "Magnum Handgun" is another type of magnum found in the game, mostly in the "Desperate times" Chapter in various hidden places, Kevin can claim a Desert Eagle in Easy mode by searching his Office Desk. It carries 7 rounds a magazine and uses ".50AE Magnum Rounds", but oddly, it does slightly less damage than the S&W 29 which is .44 Magnum. The benefit of this however, is it can fire faster than the Magnum Revolver. Kevin and Alyssa can however use their "Pot-Shot" ability to increase the damage on a per shot basis. Kevin however (probably due to training) can fire the weapon faster as he is better at controlling the recoil than the other characters.
A Magazine does come with the weapon, but is only featured in the Extra Battle Mode.

== Franchi SPAS-12 (Shotgun) ==
The SPAS-12 is featured in-game as the Resident shotgun and is commonly used by RPD Officers and the Military in-game. It carries 7 rounds of 12 gauge shot-shell ammunition. For a shotgun it has appalling damage drop-off at long range which is scaled to 10% of it's original damage, which is often typical in most video games, only showing the shotgun as the close range monster that it is. The SPAS 12 has a wide spread in-game often capable of hitting multiple targets and the power it delivers at close range is enough to send most Zombies flying with a single shot.
| |||
== Remington 870 == | |||
The Remington 870 is featured in-game as the Shotgun E, a weaker yet more common shotgun. The difference between this Shotgun and the SPAS-12 besides damage, is the fact that the weapon does more damage over range. It does 40% damage at Long range, far better than the SPAS-12's 10%. Though a shot does not spread widely, a closed-range blast is able to push off any medium-size enemies (which rarely happens with SPAS-12), making it extremely useful in siege combats.

== J.P. Sauer S202 (Hunting Rifle) ==
The "Hunting Rifle" from the "Wild Things" Chapter, credited as firing .458 rounds (.458 Winchester Magnum) with a 2 round magazine. It does not feature a scope and instead is fired from the hip. After each shot, the character using it operates the bolt. Ammunition is very scarce, but it can take down the Scenario Boss (either a zombie elephant or male lion, depending on what you do during the scenario) with just a few shots.

== H&K PSG-1 == | |||
The Heckler & Koch PSG-1 is seen used by a Captain of the UBCS Mercenary group, seen sniping zombies on the street below and accidentally wounding the Character Linda with a leg shot. He also is able to shoot a zombie in the head, holding the gun one handed(!), that was standing behind an Umbrella executive. It is never used in the game by regular players.

== H&K MP5A2 (Sub-Machine Gun) ==
The MP5A2, called the Sub-Machine Gun is found in "Underbelly", "Desperate Times" and "The End of Road" Chapters. It fires 9x19mm "Handgun Ammo" from 30-round magazines, but unlike File #1, it does feature it's own separate magazine despite being very hard to find. It has one of the longest reload times in the game and eats up ammo incredibly quickly. It's fitted with a fixed Stock and Surefire 628 dedicated forend weaponlight, which is never used in-game and is always held at the hip. It does much less damage than the Beretta despite using the same round.

== H&K MP5A3 == | |||
The MP5A3 is used in various cut scenes, and is seen in the hands of Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service commandos trying to stop Nyx. It features the Surefire 628 dedicated forend weaponlight of the A2, but also feature's a red-dot sight. In certain scenes it changes to a normal MP5A3 without the sight and then changes back. This weapon is never used by players in-game.

== M4A1 Carbine (Assault Rifle) ==
The Colt M4A1 Carbine, just called "Assault Rifle", is found in the "Underbelly" and "The End of the Road" Chapter. It fires 5.56x45mm rounds from 30-round magazines and unlike other weapons, the only ammunition available is in the form of "Assault Rifle Magazines". Unlike File #1, damage is increased but it's still pretty low for using a intermediate rifle round (it's equal on damage to the Handgun HP). Its Rapid-fire rate is much slower than the real-life counterpart, even slower than the Resident Evil 3's version. Like the MP5A2 it is held at the hip.
In some cut scenes soldiers can be scene with M4A1 rifles with attached M203 Grenade Launchers.

The Survivors (well, three of them):
Mark Wilkins, Security Guard
Perk: Very strong
Starting Item: Mark's Handgun (Beretta M92F with better damage drop-off at range)
An "over 50-years old" veteran of the Vietnam War, Mark is the most robust character in the game, able to move objects that ordinarily need two people. Friends with a gent about his age, named Bob. Has a wife and a teenage son that lives outside Raccoon City somewhere.
Dr. George Hamilton
Perk: Turns Herbs into Pills, Has a Dodge-Tackle Counter Attack
Starting Item: Medical Kit
A gifted 39-year-old surgeon that works at Raccoon City hospital, he recently divorced after a long marriage and is dealing with the traumatic breakup of his family, by working harder at the hospital. He's friends with a researcher at Raccoon University.
Officer Kevin Ryman, Raccoon City Police Department Select Police Force
Perk: Fast, high health, "Pot Shot" ability
Starting Item: .45 Auto for Kevin
Excellent marksman, though this 31-year-old officer failed the STARS selection process twice for his anger management and drinking issues. Terrible dart player, especially when drunk, and the third best marksman in Raccoon City (the top two presumably being STARS Officers Chris Redfield and either Forrest Speyer or Ed Dewey). Friend to both Leon Kennedy and Chris, and possibly the person that got Leon to apply for the R.P.D. and a place in the S.P.F. despite his status as a rookie.

Resident Evil: Outbreak: File #2 is an Online capable Resident Evil game released for the Playstation 2. It revolves around specific survivors attempting to escape from Raccoon City. File #2 adds additional weapons, locations and new features of the game and the previously cut content from the original Outbreak File 1.
The following weapons were used in the videogame Resident Evil Outbreak: File #2:
Summery
Pistols
Beretta 92FS (Handgun)
SIG-Sauer P228 (Handgun SG)
The SIG-Sauer P228 is one of the Handgun's commonly found in the "Flashback" Chapter and is called the "Handgun SG". It fires 9x19mm rounds in 13-round magazines. It feature's the worst damage drop-off, doing the most damage at close range. Unlike File #1, the Handgun SG does feature a magazine to reduce reload time.
Both Kevin and Alyssa can use their "pot-shot" ability to increase the damage on a per shot basis.
Beretta 93R (Burst Handgun)
Colt M1911A1 (.45 Auto for Kevin)
S&W Model 36 "Chiefs Special"
Browning Hi-Power
The Browning Hi-Power is shown as the most common handgun on the "Desperate Times" Chapter, named the 'Handgun HP.' The magazine holds 13 rounds, like the P228. The weapon does feature a Magazine to speed up reloading. This is the best 9x19mm handgun in the game, doing 100% damage at all ranges, which is better than Mark's Handgun (which drops to 80% damage at long range).
Glock 17
The Glock 17 is featured in the "Underbelly" scenario under the name Handgun GL. It does exactly the same damage as Mark's Handgun, but has 2 rounds more in the magazine - 17 rounds - and does feature a "Handgun GL Magazine" to decrease reload time. However, it has significantly worse damage drop off than Mark's Handgun as at long range it only does 60% of the original damage while "Mark's Handgun" is 80%.
Magnums
S&W Model 29 (Magnum Revolver)
Desert Eagle (Magnum Handgun)
Shotguns
Franchi SPAS-12 (Shotgun)
The SPAS-12 is featured in-game as the Resident shotgun and is commonly used by RPD Officers and the Military in-game. It carries 7 rounds of 12 gauge shot-shell ammunition. For a shotgun it has appalling damage drop-off at long range which is scaled to 10% of it's original damage, which is often typical in most video games, only showing the shotgun as the close range monster that it is. The SPAS 12 has a wide spread in-game often capable of hitting multiple targets and the power it delivers at close range is enough to send most Zombies flying with a single shot.
Remington 870
The Remington 870 is featured in-game as the Shotgun E, a weaker yet more common shotgun. The difference between this Shotgun and the SPAS-12 besides damage, is the fact that the weapon does more damage over range. It does 40% damage at Long range, far better than the SPAS-12's 10%. Though a shot does not spread widely, a closed-range blast is able to push off any medium-size enemies (which rarely happens with SPAS-12), making it extremely useful in siege combats.
Rifles
J.P. Sauer S202 (Hunting Rifle)
H&K PSG-1
The Heckler & Koch PSG-1 is seen used by a Captain of the UBCS Mercenary group, seen sniping zombies on the street below and accidentally wounding the Character Linda with a leg shot. He also is able to shoot a zombie in the head, holding the gun one handed(!), that was standing behind an Umbrella executive. It is never used in the game by regular players.
Automatic Weapons
H&K MP5A2 (Sub-Machine Gun)
H&K MP5A3
The MP5A3 is used in various cut scenes, and is seen in the hands of Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service commandos trying to stop Nyx. It features the Surefire 628 dedicated forend weaponlight of the A2, but also feature's a red-dot sight. In certain scenes it changes to a normal MP5A3 without the sight and then changes back. This weapon is never used by players in-game.
M4A1 Carbine (Assault Rifle)
M2 Browning
The M2 Browning is only seen in cut scenes mounted on the tops of Military Hummvees.
Launchers
M79 (Grenade Launcher)
The M79, called the "Grenade Launcher" often followed with the type of round loaded is a single shot, breach loading grenade launcher seen in the game. It fire's three different types of the rounds in File #2, Burst rounds, fictional Acid Rounds and Incendiary or flame rounds. It is found in two different chapters, most notably "Flashback" loaded with Flame Rounds and "End of the Road", both found with Burst and Acid rounds in the chapter.
M136 AT4 (Rocket Launcher)
The AT4, is featured in the game as the main Rocket Launcher. Like the real life version, it fires only a single shot before being disposed of. The weapon is only seen in the chapter "End of the Road". It takes a while to aim the weapon, as the character crouches just before firing it.
FIM-92A Stinger
The FIM-92A Stinger is used by the Umbrella Executive to try and shoot down the fleeing Chinook Helicopter with the Renegade Umbrella Operative, carrying the boss monster Nyx.
