Several IMFDB users have complained on the Discord server about you sending them messages on their user talk pages to have them create movie pages for you. I looked in your edit history and it shows that you have been behaving like this for quite a while. Please stop doing this in the future. Repeatedly sending requests to other editors is disruptive to them. --Wuzh (talk) 07:17, 12 December 2023 (UTC) | Several IMFDB users have complained on the Discord server about you sending them messages on their user talk pages to have them create movie pages for you. Sorry Wuzh, is just that I don’t have an experience creating an IMFDB article for a movie or a tv show.--DJBrimstorm (talk) 12:57, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
:Making a page for IMFDB is not difficult. If you can copy and paste wikitext from another movie page and swap out information as needed, you're 95% of the way there. All you have to do is have access to the media you want to write about and take screenshots. I see you making lots of edits to tables and formatting, so you know how wiki editing works already. No one who signed up for an account here had any experience making IMFDB pages beforehand, nor were there any tutorials or guidance. Most of us just messed around and figured it out. A lot of it is time consuming, but self explanatory.
:Remember that IMFDB is a wiki, and a wiki relies on its users to create content for it. No one is getting paid to edit here, and we all do this on our free time simply for the fun of it. That being said, if no one has the means or motivation to take quality screenshots of a movie or TV show and take the time to document and write detailed write-ups for each and every gun that appears, then a page won't be made. With a lot of things, it'll be up to you to be the change you wanna see in the world. --PyramidHead (talk) 02:41, 13 December 2023 (UTC) |

Welcome to IMFDB
Before you do any editing please take the time to read the Rules, Standards and Principles. This is a very important document that explains how this website is setup as well as telling you what is and isn't allowed. If it is determined by an admin that you have not read these rules, your account will be suspended. Continued non-compliance may result in a permanent ban. After that you should also read the IMFDB Screencapping Guide and the IMFDB Style Guide to familiarize yourself with the image and formatting requirements for pages you create.
There are a number of pages that desperately need your help. You can find these Incomplete pages here.
If you have any questions, feel free to post them here but make sure to sign your post by typing --~~~~.
Finally, IMFDB has a forum set up here that is only available to registered members. There is lots of good stuff to see there. If you would like to join the forum, please post HERE and an account will be created for you.
Now, HAPPY EDITING! bunni (talk) 03:34, 30 November 2022 (UTC)
SWAT Season 6
Please be patient and don't pester people to update the page for you, and also don't edit the page itself to ask people to do so. IMFDB is a volunteer-based project so if something isn't documented it probably just means that someone hasn't seen it or gotten around to it yet. And on that note, is there a particular reason why can't you update the page yourself? You seem to be able to watch it, and have the means to edit the wiki. - Sorry @TheExplodingBarrel. I just wanted to make sure the page was up to date with most recent aired episodes.--DJBrimstorm (talk) 18:00, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
- It's alright. Just be more patient next time. TheExplodingBarrel (talk) 18:12, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
- @TheExplodingBarrel, I guess no one is gonna Colin and identify the firearm in the photo I upload and added to the SWAT Season 6 Article. What do I do now?--DJBrimstorm (talk) 12:31, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
- Again, just be patient. Not everyone is as invested in the show as you are. Alternatively, you could do some research and identify the firearm yourself; this is generally the best course of action, since it means that you won't have to rely on other people to do the work for you. TheExplodingBarrel (talk) 01:11, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
- But I’m not very good at identifying firearms @TheExplodingBarrel--DJBrimstorm (talk) 12:08, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
- Well, a good place to start would be on this very site. There's a wealth of information available here and elsewhere on the internet for you to get learning, and this place even has some guides to help you out with IDing common similar-looking and hard-to-differentiate firearms. TheExplodingBarrel (talk) 12:26, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
- That’s easy for and other users to say.--DJBrimstorm (talk) 15:07, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
- It's easier than you think. Just about 20 minutes browsing around the various gun pages here will get you decently well-versed in the basics. Also, I should've said this beforehand but the image you uploaded isn't great; it's dark and below-average in quality. That makes it difficult to really make out the details for a good ID. And again, if you aren't willing/ can't identify a gun, you should just be patient and wait for someone to get around to it. TheExplodingBarrel (talk) 00:47, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
- Why didn’t you tell me that sooner?--DJBrimstorm (talk) 01:54, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
- I guess I just neglected to. Sorry about that. But the point still stands - you're either going to have to wait for someone else to identify it, or identify it yourself. TheExplodingBarrel (talk) 01:57, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
RE: A Little Help
Probably, but I'm not very good at IDing guns by their underside and when covered by an M203. Also, why did you put that message on my sandbox talk? And also people aren't around 24/7 to answer your questions, so if someone doesn't respond, they're probably just not online. TheExplodingBarrel (talk) 15:34, 9 June 2023 (UTC)
Rampage
Yeah, I agree with you. It's a a Micro Roni. Spartan198 (talk) 21:33, 30 July 2023 (UTC) How did you know that I was right?--DJBrimstorm (talk) 22:49, 30 July 2023 (UTC)
Image
If you're wondering why your PredatOBR image isn't updating, it's because it takes a few hours before it appears to change. You can force it to appear on a page by changing the embed size; changing it by just one pixel can do the trick. TheExplodingBarrel (talk) 14:50, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
RE: Extraction 2
I have no idea, I'm not the one who added this info in the page. --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 20:32, 15 October 2023 (UTC)
Editors are reporting that your messages are being disruptive
Hello DJBrimstorm. I am IMFDB Administrator Wuzh.
