Why is there an AK-47 in a WW2 game?-S&Wshooter 21:01, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
The game is set a few years after the orignal 1948 I think. - Domj29 01:49, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
Also, Why is there a Sterling Sub Machine gun? The Sterling only came into service in 1953.-Oliveira 12:45, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
Its not historically accurate the game also features armoured mech suits and laser weapons. - Domj29 14:33, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
Oh well. Atleast i get to kill nazis with a AK-47.-Oliveira 13:55, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Silent Storm S2 is a WW2 tactical turn-based strategy game.

The game notably features a focus on destructable environments as well as bullet penetration. It received sequels with an expansion pack called Sentinels moving the action to Post WW2 with the player recruiting characters from both the Allied/Axis campaigns from S2 as mercenaries. Hammer & Sickle, a mod turned standalone game, moves the action further into 1949 with the player as a Soviet Commando doing covert operatons behind British-American lines.

Sentinels also added both a money system (instead of faction-alligned gear being free and unlocked by plot progression.) and alternative ammo types for weapons such as hollow points for guns and anti-armor rockets for the launchers.

Hammer & Sickle changes how stats/mechanics work and added carry weight to the game with the total weight of the equipment the player is carrying impacting them as well as having relatively more of a focus on espionage and stealth over combat.

A notable inclusion are "Panzerkleins" fictional mech suits that can be equipped with some heavier weaponry that wouldn't be man-portable (or are man portable in reality but locked to them like the Boys AT Rifle) for infantry, Panzerkleins also return in Sentinels though their stats are heavily rebalanced while Hammer & Sickle doesn't include them.

While Sentinels is included in digital versions of Silent Storm, Hammer & Sickle has not seen a digital release. (and sadly is trapped behind Starforce DRM.)

Weapons added in Sentinels will have Italic Text.

Weapons added in Hammer & Sickle will have Bold Text

Pistols

Luger P08

The Luger P08 appears in two versions, a black gripped "Luger P08" and a brown gripped "Luger British". These use the exact same ".38" ammo down to even using the exact same magazines (Silent Storm has an error where every 9x19mm weapon is chambered in .38) despite the Luger British using ".38 British Service", a distinction no other British .38 weapon has. The two Lugers are practically identical gameplay-wise with the "Luger P08" just barely having slightly higher damage and range over the British counterpart. (With the British counterpart having higher durability in Sentinels.)

Nagant M1895

The Nagant M1895 revolver appears as the "Nagant 1910" in both a suppressed and unsuppressed version. It is depicted as the only "multifaction" realistic weapon as both Quartermasters for the Allied/Axis campaigns will supply the player both this weapon and ammunition for it. Unlike other firearms which use magazines or speedloaders, the Nagant M1895's ammo is (visually) just 7 cartridges taking up 1 inventory tile that's actually up to 21 rounds for the Nagant, it's the only firearm that has it's ammunition supply more ammo than the capacity of the weapon.

Webley & Scott Revolver

An unknown Webley & Scott Revolver is available as the "Webley & Scott" chambered in .455 Webley. It functions as the sterotypical "Magnum" of the game, dealing extremely high damage (capable of surpassing rifles) with low accuracy. Sentinels reworks the Webley to have lower damage but can now be aimed like other pistols instead of only low-accuracy snap shots. In Sentinels it is also used by Swiss police.

OSS "Bigot" M1911

The OSS "Bigot" M1911 appears as a rare weapon from a specific random encounter and is misidentified as the "Big Joe". (presumably the Big Joe 5 Crossbow.) It fires explosive darts. In Sentinels it is now available from the Arms Dealer.

Little Joe Crossbow

The "Little Joe" Crossbow appears as a rare weapon, notably not only is in different random encounters for both Allied/Axis players, both encounters will only sometimes spawn the weapon in a specific variant of the encounter. It can be instead purchased from the Arms Dealer in Sentinels.
