The Spy is an English-language French miniseries created by Gideon Raff and originally aired in 2019 on the premium channel OCS and distributed internationally by Netflix. It is based on the true story of Eli Cohen (portrayed by Sacha Baron Cohen), an unassuming Israeli citizen recruited by Mossad to take part in a perilous deep-cover espionage mission in Syria in the years leading up to the 1967 Six-Day War.
The following weapons were used in the television series The Spy:
Pistols
Makarov PM
The Makarov PM is used by Lieutenant Ma'azi Zaher Ad-Din (Nassim Si Ahmed) as his personal sidearm.
Tokarev TT-33
A Tokarev TT-33 is carried by Colonel Salim Hatum (Hassam Ghancy).
Browning Hi-Power
A Browning Hi-Power with black grips is used during an interrogation in "Fish Gotta Swim".
Submachine Guns
IMI Uzi
The IMI Uzi is the standard submachine gun of the Israel Defense Forces.
Assault Rifles
AK-47
The AK-47 is seen with Syrian soldiers as their main assault rifle.
AKS-47
The AKS-47 is sometimes with Syrian soldiers.
AKM
An AKM is used in "The Odd Couples" by an armed demonstrator.
Zastava M70AB2
The Zastava M70AB2 is seen with pro-government demonstrators in Damascus in "The Odd Couples". A Syrian soldier uses it in "Home". The M70 series of rifles was first produced in 1970, making these rifles slightly anachronistic for the 1960s setting of the miniseries. They could be standing in for more period-correct AK rifles like the AKS-47 and AKMS.
Sniper Rifles
Unknown
An unknown scoped rifle is seen on a film screened to IDF personnel in "The Odd Couples".
Machine Guns
RPD
The RPD is seen in "Alone in Damascus" with a Syrian soldier.
Browning M2HB
A Browning M2HB is seen inside a Syrian bunker in the middle of "The Odd Couples". It is fitted with a muzzle brake similar to the one used on the DShK.
DShK
The DShK is seen as the standard heavy machine gun for Syrian military vehicles.
Goryunov SG-43 Machine Gun
A Goryunov SG-43 Machine Gun is seen in a T-55 archive photo in "The Immigrant".
Nudelman-Rikhter NR-23
The Nudelman-Rikhter NR-23 is seen in a MiG-17 archive photo in "The Immigrant".
Nudelman N-37
The Nudelman N-37 is seen in a MiG-17 archive photo in "The Immigrant".
