A Gang Story (French Title: Les Lyonnais/The Lyonnais) is a 2011 French crime drama directed by Olivier Marchal. Loosely based on a true story, the film is about a former bank robber named Edmond "Momon" Vidal (Gérard Lanvin) who is forced to look into his past as the leader of the most notorious armed robbery gangs of the early 1970s when his best friend and former partner in crime (Tchéky Karyo) comes out of hiding to seek his help.
The following weapons are seen in the film A Gang Story (Les Lyonnais):
The Colt M1911A1 is the main weapon of Serge Suttel (Tchéky Karyo), used by him in both the present day and in flashbacks of his earlier years as a bank robber. Christo (Daniel Duval) uses a M1911A1 with a long slide while protecting Serge's daughter Lilou.
SIG P210
Momon (Gérard Lanvin) uses a SIG P210 with adjustable sights as his weapon of choice.
SIG-Sauer P228
One of the police officers who is escorting Suttel to the hospital after he attempts to kill himself while in custody has a SIG-Sauer P228 in a chest holster. Other officers led by High Commissioner Braunier (Patrick Catalifo) are also armed with P228s in the finale.
Beretta Cougar
Diego (Pierre-Andre Gilard) uses a Beretta Cougar while freeing Suttel from police custody at a hospital.
CZ-75B
A CZ-75B with an engraved slide is used by Zerbib (Laurent Fernandez), a gangster seeking revenge after being ripped off by Suttel.
Joan Chavez (François Levantal), leader of the first robbery gang that Momon is involved with, during their heists uses a Atis R.G. 700 in a rare configuration with wood furniture, pistol grip, and aftermarket magazine extension. This shotgun is apparently one of those imported by Franchi, and is an anachronism for the 70s (although it may portray a similar Remington 870).
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5KA4
A police officer escorting Suttel to the hospital is armed with a Heckler & Koch MP5KA4.
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
Another police officer at the hospital uses a Heckler & Koch MP5A3 with railed handguards.
IMI Uzi
Members of Momon's first robbery gang attempt to kill him and his family with an Uzi when he decides to quit the gang. Later, one of the Lyonnais uses an Uzi during an armored car heist.
M1A1 Thompson
The gangsters also use a M1A1 Thompson during their attempt to kill Momon.
MAT-49
Police officers in the flashbacks are armed with MAT-49 submachine guns.
A bodyguard of Nick "the Greek" Karastidis (Etienne Chicot) carries an IMI Mini Uzi when Momon meets him at his Spanish villa.
Rifles
Colt M4A1 Carbine
A police officer guarding Suttel at the hospital carries a M4A1 Carbine, using it to engage the gunmen who are trying to free Suttel.
IMI Galil SAR
One of the gunmen who break Suttel out of police custody uses an IMI Galil SAR.
SIG SG 551
Two of the gunmen use short-barrelled SIG SG 551 rifles with standard flash hiders and standard diopter sights. One features a red dot sight and a cheek riser while the other is missing its handguard.
SIG SG 552
Another gunman fires a short-barrelled SIG SG 552 with a pronged flash hider, standard diopter sights, red dot sights as well as a cheek riser.
One of the robbers uses a Ruger Mini-14 with a Choate folding stock and an extended magazine during heist at a postal office. However, the rifle is anachronistic since the heist takes place in 1971 while the Mini-14 was not introduced until 1973.
Ruger AC556K
During the theft of money from a courier vehicle in 1973, one of the Lyonnais holds a Ruger AC556 with a stainless barrel.
MAS-36
Policemen use MAS-36 rifles when apprehending Momon and Serge in 1974.
IMI Galil MAR
One of Nick the Greek's bodyguards holds a IMI Galil MAR.
