The Rookie is a 1990 action film directed by and starring Clint Eastwood as Nick Pulovski, a veteran detective in the LAPD's Auto Theft Division who finds himself paired with rookie detective David Ackerman (Charlie Sheen) as they try to take down an auto theft ring. Not to be confused with the 2002 Dennis Quaid baseball movie or the ABC television series of the same name.

Pistols
Smith & Wesson 4506
LAPD Detective Nick Pulovski (Clint Eastwood) carries a Smith & Wesson 4506 as his main sidearm throughout the film.
Beretta 92FS
The Beretta 92FS is the main sidearm of LAPD Detective David Ackerman (Charlie Sheen) at the beginning of the film. He first carries it in a hip holster, but Nick tells him to get a shoulder holster because of the "Jesse James" look is out and he shouldn't go around half-cocked. Nick's first partner also is seen with the handgun and other LAPD officers are seen drawing their Berettas when Nick is taken hostage.
Beretta 84B
David's girlfriend Sarah (Lara Flynn Boyle) is seen using a Beretta 84B during a scuffle.
Steyr GB
Later in the film, Ackerman switches to a Steyr GB as he threatens patrons at a biker bar.

Smith & Wesson Model 19
A full-size Smith & Wesson Model 19 is used by Liesl (Sonia Braga) during the casino heist.
Smith & Wesson Model 19 (Snub)
Liesl (Sonia Braga) is later seen pulling a snub Smith & Wesson Model 19 from an ankle holster during a confrontation with David Ackerman.
Smith & Wesson Model 29
The Dirty Harry deep down in Pulovski is released when he uses a Smith & Wesson Model 29 and chases Strom (Raul Julia) through the airport with it. He later takes the bullet hanging around Strom's neck and loads it in his revolver.
Smith & Wesson Model 28
Airport police draw Smith & Wesson Model 28 revolvers on Liesl during the airport lobby chase. Nick is also seen using two in the airport.
Submachine Guns
Micro-Uzi
Both Strom (Raul Julia) and Liesl (Sonia Braga) are seen using the Micro Uzi. Strom uses his while shooting it out in the warehouse and Liesl during the chase through the airport terminal.
Shotguns
Ithaca 37
The Ithaca 37 shotgun is seen held by LAPD officers and detectives when Nick is taken hostage.
