The Camp Followers (Le soldatesse) is an Italian B&W 1965 war drama directed by Valerio Zurlini and adapted from the novel by Ugo Pirro. The story is set in 1942 in Greece under Axis occupation. Lieutenant Martino (Tomas Milian) of the Italian Army gets a mission to deliver a group of local prostitutes from Athens to Italian troops in Albania.
The following weapons were used in the film The Camp Followers (Le soldatesse):
Pistols
Beretta M1934
Lt. Gaetano Martino's (Tomas Milian) service sidearm is a Beretta M1934 pistol.
Beretta M1923
A Bersaglieri Captain (uncredited) carries a Beretta M1923 pistol.
Mauser M1914
Maj. Alessi's (Aleksandar Gavric) personal sidearm is a Mauser M1914 pistol.
Luger P08
An Italian officer holds a Luger P08 during the execution of captured Greece partisans. Some German soldiers carry Luger holsters.
Submachine Guns
MP40
Some German soldiers are armed with MP40 SMGs.
Rifles
Carcano M91/38 Cavalry Carbine
Most Italian soldiers, including Martino's driver Sgt. Castagnoli (Mario Adorf), are armed with Carcano M91/38 Cavalry Carbines.
Karabiner 98k
German and Italian soldiers, as well as Greece partisans, are armed with Karabiner 98k rifles.
Unidentified rifle
A German soldier in the opening scene holds a full-length rifle. It can be an Italian Carcano M91 or some Mauser rifle.
Machine Guns
Breda Modello 37
Italian troops deploy Breda Modello 37 machine guns on several road blocks. Only a single machine gun is seen in a time, so possibly a single prop is reused throughout the movie.
Fiat-Revelli Modello 35
An abandoned Fiat-Revelli Modello 35 is seen on battlefield in the opening scene.
MG42
MG42 machine guns are used by German and Italian troops.
Unidentified machine gun
During the ambush a Greece partisan fires a machine gun that is seen very blurry and unclear due to fast motion. Possibly it's an MG34 but it's only a guess.
Other Weapons
Mortar
Mortars of probably 81.4mm caliber are seen in Italian troops column. They can be Italian Mortaio da 81 Mod. 35, German GrW 34 or some other similar looking model. In the opening scene an abandoned mortar is seen on battlefield.
Flamethrower
Italian soldiers use a flamethrower of unknown model during the operation against partisans.
