theHunter: Primal is a 2015 hunting simulator first-person shooter developed by Expansive Worlds and Avalanche Studios, a spin-off of their video game series theHunter. This game is set on a prehistoric world where the player must defend themselves from a variety of dinosaurs. The player loots the game world and can find several different weapons and firearms to use.

Most of the firearms in the game are reskinned models from theHunter: Classic.

The following weapons appear in the video game TheHunter: Primal:

Handguns

Taurus Raging Bull

The Taurus Raging Bull appears as the ".44 Disciplinary Handgun".

Taurus Raging Bull stainless with 6" barrel - .44 Magnum

Unlike its real-life counterpart, this gun only holds 5 rounds of .44 magnum in its cylinder, and is only usable in single action.

The .44 Disciplinary Handgun is the same model with a modified texture used for theHunter's .454 Revolver (El Toro).

This firearm is quite commonly found around the island, along with its .44 ammunition and attachable Handgun Scope. It is best used against Raptors, as a single shot will easily kill Velociraptors, and a well placed chest shot can take down a Utahraptor. It is also quite effective against other Pioneers.

"Small but potent. Though it will not kill big beasts it will surely kill the smaller ones, like humans. For this is a killer's weapon. It is wise to remember that." (In-Game Description)

Thompson Center Arms Contender

The Thompson Center Arms Contender appears as the ".308 Dueling Handgun".

"This innovative single-shot weapon combines the mobility of a handgun with the power of a hunting rifle. Amazing technological advancements have produced a weapon that is compact enough to be carried in a regular small weapons holster while capable of firing full sized .308 rounds. Suitable for both medium and big game." (In-Game Description)

Barrett M82A1M

A heavy, bolt action .50 BMG sniper rifle based on the Barrett M82A1M appears as the ".50 Sniper Rifle". While the in game weapon is obviously modeled after a semi-automatic weapon, it is depicted as a straight-pull bolt action instead. This very large weapon can only be found at the Mt. Sisyphus Research Station at the top of the island's volcano. Its .50 ammo can be found elsewhere, however. This rifle has a magazine capacity of five rounds.

Holland & Holland 'Royal' Double Rifle

A hefty and rare weapon that can only be found at Crown Settlements. It will easily take down almost any animal with one shot with the exception of the Tyrannosaurus, which can be killed with 2 or more well placed shots. It fires .700 Nitro Express ammunition, despite the in-game model being that of .50 BMG. The weapon model itself is taken from one of theHunter's side-by-side 12 Gauge shotguns.

"The Great Hunters used these powerful weapons. Well, the less-than-great of the Great Hunters anyway: The ones that died while trying to prove themselves to their noble kin. Hang on to this weapon if you find it. It is rare and can kill anything." (In-Game Description)

"5.56 Assault Rifle"

A lightweight automatic rifle with a magazine capacity of 20 rounds of 5.56 ammo, and featuring an integral holographic sight. This weapon can only be obtained through killing the Primal Rex, or in the spawn store after killing the Primal Rex and unlocking it.

A custom designed model for the game, it is colored black with green/yellow camouflage paint on the lower receiver. The overall shape of the weapon shares similarities with the Kriss Vector. A non-reciprocating charging handle is on the left side of the gun. It has a foldable, thumbhole stock and picatinny rail on the top of the upper receiver and under the handguard. Its iron sights are folded down, with an unremovable holographic sight very similar to an EOTECH attached to the top rail.
