Developed by Altar Interactive, UFO: Aftermath is a real-time tactics game heavily inspired by the original X-COM, (Altar bought the rights to a cancelled X-com successor, The Dreamland Chronicles: Freedom Ridge, though Altar found the game's engine too unfinished to be usuable and made their own game using some of the story concepts from it.) just like the original X-COM, the player will fight battles on a tactical view, just now in real time and use a geoscape view to select missions and pursue research and development of weaponry to fight back the Alien Threat that has almost completely wiped out humanity.
Many weapons in the game are capable of a "Burst" firing mode, though often single-shot weapons such as handguns have a "Burst" mode, any weapon that isn't a Sniper Rifle, Shotgun or Rocket Launcher usually has a burst function, the game also splits weapons into "Pistols", "Rifles and "Heavy" weapons, which often feature weapons that are simply "close enough" in that category. (for instance all submachine guns use the "Pistol" category and skill and Shotguns go into the "Rifles" category in-game, Sniper Rifles also go into the "Rifles" category in the equipment menu despite using their own seperate aiming skill.)
While the game does correctly track what caliber a weapon uses in the in-game Glossary, weapons use non-interchangable magazines in-gameplay.

The following weapons appear in UFO: Aftermath
Pistols
Browning Hi-Power
The Browning Hi-Power appear as one of the pistols in-game, it tends to be used by shot down human pilots during rescue missions.
Colt M1911A1
The M1911A1 appears, alongside the Uzi, Shotgun and basic Grenade as one of your infinitely available weaponry, while the Colt has good damage for a handgun, it has relatively low range and capacity
Heckler & Koch USP
The Heckler & Koch USP appears in-game.
Glock 19
The Glock 19 appears as one of the handguns in-game.
Desert Eagle Mark XIX
The Desert Eagle Mark XIX appears chambered in .357 as one of the usuable handguns, it is the only handgun incapable of being fired quickly in "burst" mode.
Submachine Guns/Machine Pistols
IMI UZI
The Uzi appears available in infinite quantity from the start of the game.
Sa Skorpion Hybrid
The Skorpion SA machine pistol appears as the lightest submachine gun in the game, making it a good submachine gun for units with low strength. It has the wooden grip of a Vz.61, is called the Vz.83 and the in-game glossary claims it is chambered in 9mm which neither version was available in.
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
The Heckler & Koch MP5A3 appears in the game as the "MP5".
Heckler & Koch MP7
A MP7 appears as an usable SMG.
FN P90
The FN P90 submachine gun appears in-game.
Shotguns
"Pump Action"
A generic shotgun appears in-game with two oddities: The pre-rendered rotating weapon in the equipment menu has a more metalic texture than the icon/in-game shotgun and secondly, while called the generic name of "Pump Action" in the equipment menu, in the Glossary it is called the "Spas-12" despite clearly not being a Franchi SPAS-12.
NeoStead 2000
The NeoStead 2000 shotgun appears as a usable shotgun.
Heckler & Koch CAWS
The Heckler & Koch CAWS appears as one of the shotguns, it and the Super Striker are the only shotguns with a Burst firing mode.
"Super Striker"
An odd weapon in the line-up, the "Super Striker" as it's called in-game (and "SuperStrike" in the Glossary description), is a Shotgun exclusively firing 20mm grenades instead of shotgun shells, it appears to be based on the Armsel Protecta.
Assault/Battle Rifles
Izhmash AK-47
The AK-47 appears in-game.
"Colt M4"
An unknown M16 variant appearas as the "Colt M4" despite being a full-size Rifle instead of the Carbine that the M4 is.

Heckler & Koch G3A3
The H&K G3A3 as one of the in-game rifles.
Heckler & Koch G36
The Heckler & Koch G36 appears as one of the Assault Rifles, it appears with two extra magazines stuck to either side of the magazine.
Heckler & Koch G11 Prototype 13
The Heckler & Koch G11 Prototype 13 appears as the "HK G11 K5" , the weapon's unique magazine isn't shown as it still uses the same generic "Assault Rifle" Magazine Icon as other weapons.
Steyr AUG
The Steyr AUG appears in-game.
Snipers
Remington 700
The Remington 700 appears as the first available Sniper Rifle, the bolt is textured on and since the textures are mirrored, the weapon has a bolt on both sides of the weapon.
Heckler & Koch PSG-1
The Heckler & Koch PSG-1 appears as one of the game's sniper rifles. It is modeled with a 20-round magazine, but holds 30 rounds in-game; its ammunition is also treated as distinct, despite it and the Heckler & Koch G3 (upon which it was based) being able to freely interchange magazines in reality.
Accuracy International L115A3
What appears to be the Accuracy International L115A3 is available in game with an E instead of a 3 in the name
Barrett M82A1
The Barrett M82A1 appears as the "M82A1A Barrett"
ZVI Falcon
The ZVI Falcon appears in the game as the "ZVI Falcon OP-96", with only 2 shots per slot but the highest damage of any firearm in the game, it is extremely rare to acquire.
Launchers
RPG-7
The RPG-7 appears as one of the usable Rocket Launchers.
M72 LAW
The M72 LAW appears in the game with a fictionalized deisgn as the "OSAW" (Which according to the game, stands for "One Shot AW"), it was likely originally going to just be a LAW as the game seemingly calls it a LAW in the description for the fictionalized SMAW (While the LAW's description mentions the SMAW by it's in-game fictional name to compare the two.)
Mk 153 SMAW
The Mk 153 SMAW appears in-game as the "SLAW" (Standing for "Shoulder Launched AW), according to the game, it is an improved version of the "OSAW" (or LAW as the Glossary slips up and calls it)
M79 grenade launcher
TheM79 grenade launcher appears as one of the two Grenade Launchers.
Other
M240 Flamethrower
The M240 Flamethrower appears as the single usuable flamethrower, while highly effective, if used in cramp environment, the flames can easily be sent back towards the operator.
