Several DEVGRU operators are correctly armed with Heckler & Koch HK416 carbines as their main battle weapon. This weapon is usually fitted with 10-inch barrels and a variety of accessories, including Advanced Armament Corp. suppressors, various optical sights and AN/PEQ-15 ATPIALs. Some of these rifles have M4 or some other AR platform lowers due to the fact the magazine well is slanted where on a standard 416 it is straight.
