Ransom is a 1996 thriller directed by Ron Howard and stars Mel Gibson as an airline tycoon who finds that his son is kidnapped and sets off a dramatic set of circumstances when he turns the tables on the kidnappers. Ransom is actually a loose remake of a 1956 Glenn Ford film of the same name. The film's cast includes Rene Russo, Gary Sinise, Lili Taylor, and Delroy Lindo.

Glock 19
NYPD Detective Jimmy Shaker (Gary Sinise) carries a 2nd Generation Glock 19 as his sidearm throughout the film. Uniformed NYPD officers also are seen carrying Glocks.
Beretta 85BB
Detective Jimmy Shaker carries a Beretta 85BB as a backup gun, but only has it when going to Tom Mullen's house. At the end of the film, Tom Mullen (Mel Gibson) is seen brandishing it.
Smith & Wesson 5946
FBI Special Agent Lonnie Hawkins (Delroy Lindo) carries a Smith & Wesson 5946 as his sidearm in this film. This weapon is also carried by many of the uniformed NYPD officers in the film. This weapon is a correct sidearm choice for the NYPD, though not the FBI.
M1911A1
Cubby Barnes (Donnie Wahlberg) threatens Mullen with an M1911A1 as he retrieves the ransom.
