The Model 340 was an economical, sturdy no frills bush rifle designed for varmint and deer shooting. In continuous production for 35 years the rifle was a steady seller and is a popular truck and camp rifle with hunters, farmers and so forth not only in the United States but other nations. The model was discontinued along with other models in the Eighties when the company experienced economic decline and had to exercise severe austerity measures.
