In the provided screenshot, the NF-1 is in fact not visible, which raises an almost philosophical question: does it actually appear in the movie if we can't see it? Does the shadowed hole in the mantlet count as an appearance of the firearm, if it's just a representation of the absence of light? And on a more practical level, how do we know it's an NF-1? If it were a real AMX-10RC it would (probably: I don't actually know what's the machine gun on the Moroccan ones) be an NF-1, but this is a depiction of a hypothetical, post-apocalyptic, JSSDF-service AMX-10RC. Replacing coaxial machine guns with the local service machine gun is often done for logistical reasons (like the FN MAGs on Dutch Leopard tanks); so how can we tell that it's an NF-1 and not a Sumitomo Type 62? Regarding the JSSDF's AMX-10RCs and their NF-1 machine guns. (Assuming we can even say it exists in the first place...) --Eukie (talk) 16:15, 23 June 2022 (EDT)

For what it's worth, there has been a discussion about "gun ID by vehicle identity rather than visual confirmation" on IMFDB before. The conclusions from the discussion ultimately amounted to "be careful and don't assume anything" and "describing the context sometimes works as a replacement for visual confirmation". With regards to this page, I would focus on noting what exists on the film screen (the "shadowed hole in the mantlet"), and describe the guns as being the guns that should be there given the vehicles they are mounted on. --Wuzh (talk) 22:49, 24 June 2022 (EDT)
