The Way Back is a 2010 American movie directed by Peter Weir that is inspired by the 1956 novel The Long Walk by former Polish prisoner of war Sławomir Rawicz. In a Siberian labor camp, Pole Janusz, Russian Valka, American Mr. Smith, and other prisoners meet and form an alliance for survival. Together they forge an escape plan, which they put into action during an ice storm. They exert superhuman efforts to get into their respective homeland. And it is a lossy path that leads the community from Siberia through the Gobi Desert and even across the Himalayas.
The following weapons were used in the film The Way Back:
Revolvers
Nagant M1895
The Commandant (Stanislav Pishtalov) is briefly seen with a Nagant M1895 revolver during the blizzard.
Rifles
Mosin Nagant M1891
The majority of the Soviet prison guards are equipped with Imperial Russian Mosin Nagant M1891 rifles.
Mosin Nagant M1891/30
Some Soviet Mosin Nagant M91/30 can also be seen wielded by the prison guards.
