Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is a 1998 dark comedy film directed by Terry Gilliam and stars Benicio del Toro as Oscar Z. Acosta (with the alias in the film of Dr. Gonzo) along with Johnny Depp as Hunter S. Thompson (Playing under the pen name of Raoul Duke). Based on (the real) Hunter S. Thompson's novel of the same name, the film follows Duke and Gonzo as they travel through Las Vegas while under the influence of every hallucinogenic drug known to mankind.
