The Armaguerra is a semi-automatic Italian rifle created in the interwar period as one of the attempts to adopt this type of weapon into service. It was originally supposed to use the new 7.35x51mm ammunition, but due to the lack of time to switch to its production, rifle was adapted to 6.5mm Carcano. Modello 39 was indeed limited to use by the troops, but the project never was wide-developed. It was produced in quantities not exceeding the three-digit number, and about 100 rifles were used in the army. The project appears to have been finally discontinued by the end of 1943.
