Street Kings is a 2008 American crime thriller directed by David Ayer (the writer of Training Day and the director of Harsh Times) and stars Keanu Reeves as Tom Ludlow, a veteran LAPD Vice detective who finds himself questioning the actions he's had to take in the line of duty when he's involved in a shootout that led to the death of his former partner. The film was based on an original screenplay from James Ellroy (the author of L.A. Confidential) and co-stars Forest Whitaker, Chris Evans, Terry Crews, and Hugh Laurie. An unrelated sequel, Street Kings 2: Motor City, was released on video in 2011.

The following weapons were used in the film Street Kings:

Handguns

Smith & Wesson 4506-1

Detective Tom Ludlow (Keanu Reeves) uses a Smith & Wesson 4506-1 with Novak LoMount sights as his on-duty sidearm, but uses a customized Colt Mk IV Series 80 for his off-duty activities. He most notably uses it near the beginning of the film, when he hides it in the trunk of a car and uses it to single-handedly takes down four Korean slavers. Although it is not visible in the film, the 4506 used in the film has a pair of snake eyes dice and "Vice Special" printed on the right side of the slide between the ejection port and the muzzle. This 4506 was later re-used in several episodes of the TV series Dark Blue (which had the same armorer as this film).

Custom Colt Mk IV Series 80

Detective Tom Ludlow carries a Colt Mk IV Series 80 pistol as his off-duty sidearm. The .45 is customized with raised adjustable sights, beaver tail grip safety, a combat hammer, extended ambidextrous slide stop safety, extended slide release, beveled magazine well, stainless barrel, and long type combat trigger. The magazines Ludlow uses also have butt pads.

The particular Series 80 from Street Kings would later be re-used in several other films and TV series, carried by Dylan McDermott in Dark Blue and Cole Hauser in Chase. Special thanks to Terence Morgan, the armorer on all three productions, who provided the picture of the weapon (as seen below).
