During this sequence, a soldier is dramatically shown climbing on top of an armored vehicle holding up a flare to guide the strike in while being overwhelmed by zombies in what is perhaps a nod to a similar sequence with Nicolas Cage in The Rock.

During the opening credits, Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II attack jets are seen conducting airstrikes against zombie hordes on the Las Vegas Strip. The A-10 was built around the General Electric GAU-8/A Avenger cannon as its primary weapon.
