KAC used to offer an SR-25K that was very similar to the configuration in the show, but even that had a visible gas block or fixed FSP. The handguard on the one in the show appears to be slightly longer (maybe a full length RAS cut down in the rear, considering it has the cutout for the Mk 11 Mod 0's folding front sight?), but still not long enough to completely hide an LPGB given the angles we have here. If it's not an airsoft, then it must have an absurdly short gas tube. :I think that the handguard is just a stock Mk 11 Mod 0 one that hasn't been cut down. If you count the round cooling/lightening holes on the top there are 12, which is correct for a full length so nothing has been removed. I've never seen the show so have no idea if they cycle, my guess would be Airsoft though. I suppose it could be a real gun, but as you say it would ned a short gas system hidden under the handguard. I don't know why they would do that though, and if you gave it a short gas system you could still keep the original gas block on there unconnected to maintain the look and function. My suspicion was that they wanted to use a more available threaded on suppressor so removed the gas block (which has the suppressor mount) and just threaded the barrel, but if that was the case you now have a totally non functional gun so why not just use a fake Airsoft suppressor whether it is a real gun or not. --[[User:Commando552|commando552]] ([[User talk:Commando552|talk]]) 13:11, 15 June 2021 (EDT) | |||

SR-25?
Is it just me, or is there something funky with that SR-25? Based on the fact that it has the knurled ring at the back of the handguard and the bottom rail goes all the way to the front looks like it is based on the original Mk 11 Mod 0 style SR-25, but the gas block is totally missing. This would make it non functional obviously, are they ever shown visibly cycling? It could be possible that there is a shorter gas system hidden under the handguard, but I doubt it. --commando552 (talk) 11:46, 5 December 2020 (EST)
Spartan198 (talk) 22:27, 14 June 2021 (EDT)

Mk 20 SSR is actually a CSR-20
The Mk 20 here appears to me to be a CSR-20, which was FN's failed bid for the CSASS program.
It has an SSR stock (unlike the Magpul AR stock adapter that the CSR-20 above has), but based on the design of the front end of the receiver, I believe this is actually a CSR-20. Spartan198 (talk) 22:10, 14 June 2021 (EDT)
- I think the definitive difference between the two is the barrel length, 20" on the Mk20 and 16" on the CSR (Compact Sniper Rifle). This rifle has the short barrel, so is the CSR. FN has shown off the CSR with the same stock as the SSR (here) so that doesn't matter. The front of the receiver is indicative of the CSR, but I think that technically you could make an SSR look like this as I don't think this extension is part of the receiver but is instead part of the rails which you could change over. --commando552 (talk) 12:57, 15 June 2021 (EDT)
