A Walk in the Sun is a 1945 World War II film that follows a US Army platoon that lands in Italy in 1943 and is commanded by Sergeant Bill Tyne (Dana Andrews). As the platoon makes its way inland to attempt to take a fortified farmhouse, tension in the platoon ensures as casualties mount. Director Lewis Milestone (All Quiet on the Western Front) achieves a gritty realism that is ultimately closer to the truth of combat.
