The Seventh Companion (Sedmoy sputnik) is a 1968 (filmed 1967) Soviet B&W drama directed by Grigoriy Aronov and Aleksey German and based on the story by Boris Lavrenev (this is the third screen adaptation of the original story after 1928 and 1962 versions). The plot depicts the tragical story of Evgeniy Pavlovich Adamov (Andrei Popov), former General and Professor of the military law academy of the Russian Army, during the Russian Civil War.
Note: the English release title The Seventh Companion doesn't match the meaning of the Russian title. The Seventh Satellite would be more correct as Adamov calls himself a satellite of the revolution.
The following weapons were used in the film The Seventh Companion (Sedmoy sputnik):
Revolvers
Nagant M1895
A number of Reds and Whites carry Nagant M1895 revolvers. The revolvers are of anachronistic post-1930 version.
Pistols
Mauser C96
The Commissar of the revolutionary court martial unit Mikhail Savelyevich Zykov (Pyotr Chernov) carries a Mauser C96 pistol.
Flintlock Pistols
Several antique Flintlock Pistols are used as a wall decoration in the apartments of Adamov's friend of old Lev Priklonskiy.
Rifles
Mosin Nagant M1891 Infantry
Mosin Nagant M1891 Infantry rifles are widely used by both Reds and Whites.
Mosin Nagant M1891 Dragoon
Mosin Nagant M1891 Dragoon rifles are also used by Reds and Whites.
Machine Guns
Maxim M1910 or M1910/30
A Maxim M1910 or M1910/30 is seen in the guardhouse of the house of detention.
Trivia
76.2 mm divisional gun model 1902
A Red Army 76.2 mm divisional gun model 1902 is seen in one scene.
