When Prokhorov alias Col. Andrey Lukich Somov (Vladimir Zamanskiy) is revealed as Soviet agent, he grabs a Nagant M1895 from Gen. Baron Ungern (Aleksandr Lemberg).
Mauser C96 pistols are widely used in the movie, notably by Munko (Laykhansurengijn Lkhasuren), a shepherd turned warrior, the Mongol warlord Khatanbaatar Magsarjav (Navaany Dugarsanjaa), and Sotnik (a Lieutenant level rank in Cossack troops) Sipaylov (Dmitriy Masanov), the head of counterintellegence service of Ungern's army. Many Chinese officers also are armed with Mausers which was in reality a very popular handgun in early 20th century China.
Most Chinese soldiers and some Mongols and Cossacks are armed with Mauser Gewehr 1898 rifles. The rifles are fitted with relatively short bayonets, probably of Karabiner 98k. Some if not all rifles are of post-WW1 modification with tangent-leaf rear sight.
