The Probation (Ispytatelnyy Srok) is a 1960 Soviet detective drama movie directed by Vladimir Gerasimov and based on the story by Pavel Nilin. The plot is set in 1923 when two young men - Aleksandr Yegorov (Oleg Tabakov) and Sergey Zaytsev (Vyacheslav Nevinnyy) - begin their work as detectives of the Ugolovny Rozysk (criminal investigations department) and has to prove themselves.
The following weapons were used in the film The Probation (Ispytatelnyy Srok):
Revolvers
Nagant M1895
Nagant M1895 revolvers are used by Ugolovny Rozysk personnel, including Starshiy Upolnomochennyi (the senior detective) Ulyan Grigoryevich Zhur (Oleg Efremov) and the rookie detective Aleksandr Yegorov (Oleg Tabakov). A Nagant is also used by bandit Pashka Ozherelyev (Yuri Kireyev). All revolvers are of post-1930 model.
Pistols
FN 1903
FN Model 1903 is used by another rookie detective Sergey Zaytsev (Vyacheslav Nevinnyy). Detective Vorobeychik (Boris Novikov) also is seen with an FN 1903 (definitly the same prop reused).
Mauser C96
Bandit Pashka Ozherelyev (Yuri Kireyev) uses a Mauser C96. After Pashka is arrested, his Mauser is hold by Yegorov.
Trivia
Lighter Pistol
Yegorov confiscates a lighter pistol, similar in shape to FN Model 1905-style pocket pistols, from a shopkeeper (Andrei Tutyshkin).
