BCM "BCM4"
Whoever wrote this section used incorrect naming terminology. "BCM4" is the generic name for any Bravo Company Mfg rifle (specifically, LRG) chambered in 5.56, .223, or .300 Blackout. However, BCM's full-up rifles are classified by a combination of barrel length, barrel profile, handguard type, and (most recently) receiver type (any rifle that uses the MK2 upper receiver now has "MK2" in the name).
The rifles used in this movie appear to be BCM Reece-14 ELW KMR-A13s painted white, and that is what I recommend that we call them on the page. What this means:
- Reece-14: Means that the upper receiver group has the 14.5" M4 barrel length; BCM uses only integers to name uppers. (For comparison: A BCM upper receiver group with an 11.5" barrel is called a "Reece-11", and an upper with a 16" barrel is called a "Reece-16".)
- ELW: Means that the rifle has the Enhanced Lightweight Profile barrel, which is a barrel that has reduced width in certain locations (specifically, just behind the muzzle device) to reduce weight. I note that the picture from Xtreme Props shows that the rifle has a thinner profile behind the muzzle, so I'm pretty sure it's an ELW barrel. (This is in contrast to barrels such as the Enhanced Medium Weight (EMW), which is shown on the sample "BCM BCM4" seen in the picture above.)
- KMR-A13: Means that the rifle is fitted with BCM's proprietary KMR-Alpha-series KeyMod handguard in a 13" length. (For comparison: The equivalent length handguard in M-LOK would be called "MCMR-13".)
My own BCM rifle is a MK2 Reece-14 ELW MCMR-13 ("MK2" because I have the new MK2 upper receiver with the shortened forward assist and reinforced left side, and "MCMR-13" because I have an M-LOK handguard). Hope this helps. -MT2008 (talk) 19:04, 4 April 2020 (EDT)
