The Sign of Four is a British 1983 made for TV detective movie, based on the famous novel by Arthur Conan Doyle. It is directed by Desmond Davis and stars Ian Richardson as Sherlock Holmes and David Healy as Dr. Watson. This is the second of two 1983 Holmes movies with Ian Richardson, preceded by The Hound of the Baskervilles.
The following weapons were used in the film The Sign of Four:
Revolvers
Webley "WG" Army Model
Major John Sholto (Thorley Walters) fires a Webley "WG" Army Model revolver when he sees Jonathan Small in the window.
Colt 1878-1902 Philippine Model
Dr. Watson (David Healy) uses a Colt 1878-1902 Philippine Model, a U.S. Army issued version of Colt 1878 Double Action (this revolver is also incorrectly referred as "Alaskan Model"), identified by its larger trigger guard.
Shotguns
Double Barreled Shotgun
When Maj. Sholto fires in the window, butler Williams (Robert Russell) rushed to the sound of the shot, holding a Double Barreled Shotgun.
