:::I didn't call it a rifle, it's a carbine (which is why the section was titled "Rifles/Carbines"). But now that you mention it, I believe that such weapons are usually grouped with SMGs on IMFDB pages, so I'm thinking of re-adding there, but while renaming the section to "Submachine Guns/Pistol-Caliber Carbines" (been done on a few other pages). On another note, the TR-1 Ultralight was indeed shown as semi-auto most of the time in JW2. --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 02:04, 27 January 2019 (EST) | :::I didn't call it a rifle, it's a carbine (which is why the section was titled "Rifles/Carbines"). The banging is tapping the Colt barrel wedge out. If the wedge is well fitted, it should take only one tap. A Colt frame is shown without screws during the sequence. One can switch the innards of Colt Navies around, including hammers. You can't switch barrels and cylinders between calibers. Putting a Colt Navy barrel on a Remington frame is pure science fiction as Remington barrels are screwed into the frame while Colt barrels fit on the cylinder arbor and are secured by the wedge. Even if you could, the Colt Navy barrel is .36 caliber whereas the '75 Remington is a .44; Kaboom!
I did not see a '61 Navy in the sequence , but rather the '60 Army with a worn, grey finish, perhaps a non gun.

Why delete the full list? The edit explanation literally just said "unneeded", but I had already added the whole thing and "not necessary to go out of your way to add" and "necessary to go out of your way to remove" are two very different things. It was an incredibly small amount of text (literally a single kilobyte worth, for reference, the image of the poster alone on this page is one thousand times the size) and didn't slow the rate at which the page was loaded at any perceivable difference. The only thing it did was make the whole section more readable.--U7355608 (talk) 15:48, 10 June 2022 (EDT)

Gun choices
I know the props are meant to promote Taran Tactical, but I think John would be used an actual short barrel MPX because there's no real advantages in a long barrelled PCC Excalibur01 (talk) 10:47, 24 January 2019 (EST)

- Does the MPX Carbine count as a rifle or SMG? I called it a SMG, UltimateNinja called it a rifle because semi-only. Sure the base gun is semi-only but this is a movie, its more likely to be full-auto. And yes, we get more 3Gun nonsense from Taran Tactical and another "9mm Major" blank gun. - I didn't call it a rifle, it's a carbine (which is why the section was titled "Rifles/Carbines"). --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 02:04, 27 January 2019 (EST)
- Also, the mall ninja guns definitely fit in the John Wick atmosphere IMO (High Table, gold coins, etc.), unlike in some other movies with generic criminals. --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 08:39, 20 July 2019 (EDT)

- They gave him a 16" weapon last movie as well, because assassins always follow US firearms laws, even in foreign nations--Mandolin (talk) 19:22, 26 January 2019 (EST)
- I mean, some of them other assassins had shorter barrel guns. In this movie during the Morocco shootout, John actually picked up and used a short barrel MPX and then for some reason gave it to Halle Barry in the next scene. Excalibur01 (talk) 00:27, 13 June 2019 (EDT)
- If I remember correctly, they didn't use the same gun. Wick picked up a 4.5" MPX Copperhead, but Sofia used an 8" MPX. As for Wick's choice of a 16" MPX Carbine later in the NYC Continental, I guess one possibility is that it's a "big" gun in the eyes of the audience (which he throws at an assailant when it gets emptied). Unsurprisingly, it ended up lacking effectiveness against the heavily armored attackers, though it was noticeably more effective than the 2011 Combat Master despite being chambered the same. He might as well have used a larger-caliber weapon such as an MCX assault rifle (as in, before knowing how much they were armored). --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 02:58, 13 June 2019 (EDT)
- EDIT: Charon did mention ahead of time that the High Table forces have made "armor improvements", so he and Wick should have definitely used larger caliber weapons from the beginning. --Ultimate94ninja (talk)

Pistol used by Winston
Does anyone happen to know what the pistol used by Winston (mother-of-pearl grips) is? This pistol appears near the final scene in the "glass" room and is also the pistol used to shoot a character off the roof of the Continental. Not mentioned in the main article thus far.
It was a Colt 1903 or 1908 Pocket Hammerless --Insertjjs (talk) 20:01, 18 May 2019 (EDT)
There's a scene where the adjudicator talks to the Bowery King about a Kimber 1911 that John used and takes it out her bag as evidence, but you notice the grip was different from the Kimber Warrior that was actually used in the movie Excalibur01 (talk) 20:36, 18 May 2019 (EDT)
Revolver Shenanigans
I'm looking forward to the home release of the film, as that scene with the revolvers toward the beginning was fascinating, and I wish to watch it again just to see what on earth he was doing.
Here's my little breakdown: He grabs a .44-40 cartridge (clearly marked in the display he stole it from) and played mix and match with guns to get it to fire out of what he had. From the looks of it, he took the frame from an 1875 Remington, grabbed a .44-40 cylinder from another revolver, and then grabbed the barrel off an 1858 colt and squished it onto the whole assembly, then replaced the hammer of the Remington for some reason. After all this, he successfully used to it fire that single .44-40, but the takes were such that I didn't really comprehend exactly what kind of tinkering madness he allegedly pulled off. Anyone else got thoughts on this scene? Uberdood (talk) 20:30, 20 May 2019 (EDT)
It seemed like a homage to two scenes from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. The scene where Eli Wallach disassembles three revolvers (albeit all the same model and brand) to make a “custom” gun, but combined with the tension of the scene where Clint Eastwood quickly reloads his revolver when he hears gunmen coming. (User talk:Cole Thorton)
- I figured that the guns were broken and he was trying to figure out which parts worked.--Mandolin (talk) 20:37, 10 June 2019 (EDT)
- This is likely it. I recall that he struggled with loading the first revolver that he picked up. --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 05:01, 11 June 2019 (EDT)
The gun Wick uses to switch parts with the Remington is a Colt 1851 Navy. In real life that is physically impossible. --Tecolote (talk) 22:15, 12 June 2019 (EDT)Tecolote--Tecolote (talk) 22:15, 12 June 2019 (EDT)
- First of all forgive me, it's been a while since I used a wiki. Also, I know more about guns than the average joe, but I wouldn't call myself a gun expert or anything. You say Colt Navy. From the movie it looked like a Colt Army Action. But even re-viewing the scene on Youtube, it's definitely a cap-and-ball revolver. It's important to note that such revolvers don't use modern cartridged bullets, so my hypothesis is that he wanted it to be able to able to quickly take a (modern cartridged) bullet. Looked at from this perspective, the scene is almost "the opposite" of the Star Trek OS episode "Arena". Des (talk) 14:29, 13 June 2019 (CAT)
- Pretty sure you can't replace the hammer on a revolver without taking apart the entire gun. He didn't use any tools other than banging on it. Excalibur01 (talk) 00:25, 13 June 2019 (EDT)
--Tecolote (talk) 18:35, 3 August 2019 (EDT)Tecolote--Tecolote (talk) 18:35, 3 August 2019 (EDT) With the excellent screen caps now provided, I'm positive the 1860 is a non gun, a Denix. Note the screws in grip, the diamond-shaped logo on the frame and the greyish finish.

There is a Glock 19X used by Wick. The lighting is poor but he starts the Morocco gun and dogfight with it. You really have to looking for it but it is there. --Tecolote (talk) 22:12, 12 June 2019 (EDT)Tecolote--Tecolote (talk) 22:12, 12 June 2019 (EDT)
- Really? That would be cool (yeah, I didn't notice it due to the lighting and fast action), and it would confirm what Xtreme Props revealed two months ago. --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 03:08, 13 June 2019 (EDT)
Left side?
Anyone else notice that all the pages for the John Wick movies are scrunched over to the left side of the screen? And just the Wick movies, all the others seem fine. Pic--Mandolin (talk) 16:30, 15 September 2019 (EDT)
- Yeah i noticed that too even in the edit box its all to the left side.--Balin21 (talk) 17:34, 15 September 2019 (EDT)
- Apparently, it's a result of the Kimber EVO SP ad video showing up at the top of all namespaces (articles, templates, images, etc.) that have "John Wick" as part of their name. --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 18:25, 15 September 2019 (EDT)

Any idea about the pistol at the top left? (next to the Glock 19X) --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 16:32, 17 February 2020 (EST)
- I think it's FN FNP-45 Pustelga7 (talk) 18 February 2020
- I did previously think of something like that, but it doesn't exactly match it. --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 22:25, 17 February 2020 (EST)
- Okay I got it. It's actually an FN FNX (specifically the FNX-9, not 45, given the shape of the pistol grip). --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 22:27, 17 February 2020 (EST)

Muzzle device on CCP?
Given the CCP's unusual operating method, would attaching a muzzle device like that impact the functionality? --VladVladson (talk) 01:40, 19 March 2022 (EDT)
Full continental armory list
Why delete the full list? The edit explanation literally just said "unneeded", but I had already added the whole thing and "not necessary to go out of your way to add" and "necessary to go out of your way to remove" are two very different things. It was an incredibly small amount of text (literally a single kilobyte worth, for reference, the image of the poster alone on this page is one thousand times the size) and didn't slow the rate at which the page was loaded at any perceivable difference. The only thing it did was make the whole section more readable.--U7355608 (talk) 15:48, 10 June 2022 (EDT)
