The Siege of Firebase Gloria is a 1989 Vietnam War film directed by Brian Trenchard-Smith and starring R. Lee Ermey and Wings Hauser as US Marines on a Long Range Recon Patrol who find themselves at Firebase Gloria, an isolated American fire support base that appears to be on the verge of an all-out assault by both the NVA and the Viet Cong on the eve of the Tet Offensive. The cast for the Australian production includes Albert Popwell, Robert Arevalo, and Gary Hershberger.

Rifles
M14 Rifle
The M14 rifle is carried by Cpl. Joseph L. 'Nard' DiNardo (Wings Hauser). A scoped M14 is carried by the ARVN sniper in the LRRP team.
M16A1 Rifle
The M16A1 rifle, with 30-round magazines, are seen used by American forces in the film including Cpl. Joseph L. 'Nard' DiNardo and Sgt. Maj. Bill Hafner (R. Lee Ermey).
Norinco Type 56
VC forces are armed with Norinco Type 56 rifles throughout the film. Both Hafner and DiNardo use the rifles in the final battle.

Several Browning M2HB heavy machine guns are used in the film. A Browning fitted with an anti-aircraft target sight is used by VC forces who shot at American helicopters. US forces defending Firebase Gloria also are seen using them. Hafner briefly uses one during the final battle
