World War Z is a 2019 third person shooter developed by Saber Interactive that is loosely based on the book of the same name and set in the same universe as the 2013 movie it shares its name with. In a style similar to Left 4 Dead, players play 4 different survivors spread around various locations such as New York City, Jerusalem, Moscow, Tokyo, and Marseille, dealing with massive hordes of zombies as well as various objectives. The guns in-game are broken into 4 different tiers with a few basic types of gun such as shotguns, semi-auto rifles, burst-fire rifles and so on within each tier.
With a latest update, a Horde mode XL was added.
The following weapons appear in the video game World War Z:
Tier I
Colt M1911A1
The M1911A1 appears as the "Pistol" although the story calls it the "1911 Protector" The M1911 is the starting Secondary Weapon of every class unless upgraded. The pistol also comes stock with a suppressor which is good as it allows you to be stealthy and pick off zombies from the horde. It is depicted with a magazine capacity that is double the amount than implied on the model.
Glock 17 MOS
The Glock 17 MOS appears as the "Machine Pistol" in the menu and the "Geist 17MP" in the story. It is modeled with diagonal front slide serrations, as well as a threaded barrel. It is likely intended to pass for a Glock 18 machine pistol, except that it shown firing in 3-round burst mode rather than full-auto.
Converted Glock 17
A fully-automatic version was later added, but still lacks the fire selector, implying that it is a converted model.
Glock 40
The Glock 17 can be customized with a long slide, making it resemble a Glock 40 (which is the only 6" barreled Glock that exists in Gen 4 configuration). The slide has a cutout on the front top similar to that of the Agency Arms Glock 40 (being noticeably narrower than the cut present on the Glock 17L and 24), as well as cutouts on the left and right sides like various custom Glock modifications.
Ruger AC556
The Ruger AC556 appears as the "Scout Rifle" or "Mini-21" as one of the three starting primary weapons for certain classes.
IMI Uzi
The IMI Uzi appears as the "Compact SMG" as well as the story name of "Gal-9" as one of the three starting primary weapons.
"M500" (Mossberg 500/Remington 870 hybrid)
The basic Tier 1 pumpg shotgun in-game appears as the "M500." Despite its name, it appears to be a hybrid of the Mossberg 500 and Remington 870 as it has the trigger guard and the tang safety of the Mossberg, but the ejection port, and barrel/magazine tube/forend of the Remington. It is one of the other starting weapons.
Tier II
Colt AR-15A3 Tactical Carbine
The Colt AR-15A3 Tactical Carbine appears as the "Sporting Carbine" or the in-game story name of the "PAC-15", which ironically is the name of a real AR-15 clone made by Pioneer Arms Co in Radom, Poland. This is a possible upgrade over the Scout rifle for certain classes. By default, it is depicted with a fixed stock instead of a collapsible one, though it has some lightweight stock options in the customization. Markings on the receiver identify it as being made by the fictional "Paladin Manufacturing Co." out of Titusville, Florida, where the real world Knight's Armaments Company is based, a popular manufacturer of AR-15 and AR-10 pattern rifles and accessories for the U.S. Military.
Mk 18 Mod 0
The "Sporting Carbine" can be turned into a semi-automatic version of the Mk 18 Mod 0 with the appropriate attachments.
Kimiko Nomura's Custom AR-15
One of the unique "Sporting Carbine" variants is a custom AR-15, most resembling a shortened Daniel Defense DDM4ISR. It comes with with an M-Lok handguard, using Daniel Defense's patented "Bolt-Up" mounting system, wherein the handguard is attached using hex bolts that pass through a plate clamped around a modified barrel nut. Though, notably, the DDMRISR is the single only Daniel Defense rifle that uses Keymod as opposed to M-Lok or a 1913 quad rail. It's been fitted with an EOTech EXPS, a Magpul MOE pistol grip, a laser pointer (as all fully upgraded WWZ weapons do) and a stock that takes design elements from both the Mission First Tactical Battlelink stock, and Strike Industries' Viper Mod 1. It's also loaded with Magpul P-Mags, fit with a rather large red extension. Usually these add somewhere between five and eight rounds, but it only gives an additional three in game. Finally, the receiver and stock use a camouflaged pattern with red controls, and the handguard has red Paracord looping through it.
Canonically, the weapon is Kimiko Nomura's rifle that she used for professional target shooting, though considering that the only firearms legal to Japanese citizens are shotguns, the logistics are a little unclear there. This could also explain why it lacks back up iron sights, as a shooting competition is a much more controlled environment and one doesn't have to worry about batteries running out, as they might in the field. Gameplay-wise, however, you spawn with whatever weapons your class gives you, and which character you pick is completely nil to weapon choice. Any player who equips this as their "Sporting Carbine" variant will have access to this at any PAC-15 spawn.
AK-103
The AK-103 appears in-game both as the "Assault Rifle" as well as the lore name "ARK-103".
AK-104
The AK-104 appears as an alternate upgrade to the "Assault Rifle". The gas block (with the front sight now attached to it) is still the same as the base AK-103, though.
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
A slightly modified Heckler & Koch MP5A3 appears in the in-game world as the "SMG" or "TMP5". It incorrectly features a full-length built-in top rail, and uses HK's rail-mounted diopter sights on top of them. The handguard is also slightly modified.
Knight's Armament SR-25
The Knight's Armament SR-25 appears in the in-game world as the "Sniper Rifle" or the "MK110".
Remington 1100/Benelli M4 Super 90 hybrid
The "Combat Shotgun" or "S890" is a bit of a mix of influences, seemingly based on the Remington 1100 but fitted with parts from the Benelli M4 Super 90, namely the collapsing stock and top rail/rear sight.
"Compact Shotgun"
There is also a modified version of this Remington/Benelli hybrid as a secondary weapon, known as the "Compact Shotgun" which appears to just be the "Combat Shotgun" that someone sawed the barrel down on.
ST Kinetics CPW
The ST Kinetics CPW appears as either the generic "PDW" in-game or the "Senjata PDW" in the lore (Senjata is Indonesian for "weapon") as a full auto secondary weapon.
FAMAS F1/G2 hybrid
The FAMAS appears as the "Classic Bullpup Rifle", with the lore name "Le Clarion" (a reference to the real-life nickname of FAMAS). It incorrectly uses STANAG magazines with a G2 magazine well, and fires only in two-round bursts.
FAMAS Valorisé
The FAMAS F1/G2 hybrid can be upgraded into a FAMAS Valorisé in the middle of the upgrade tree.
FAMAS FÉLIN
A further upgrade to the FAMAS will turn it into the FÉLIN variant.
FN FAL
The FN FAL appears as the "Classic Battle Rifle", also known as "LAR".
DSA SA58 OSW
One of the upgrade paths will turn the FAL into a DSA SA58 OSW Carbine.
Mateba Model 6 Unica
The Mateba Model 6 Unica appears as the "Casull 6", suggesting that it is the .454 Casull version.
Double Barreled Shotgun
A 12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun appears as the "Double-Barreled Shotgun", also known as "Dunali SxS". The name may be a reference to Benelli, although the model is clearly fictional, including, oddly enough, a receiver that seems to be partially based on the Ithaca 37.
Tier III
Heckler & Koch HK416
The Heckler & Koch HK416 appears as the "Assault Carbine" although the lore name does call it a "HW416".
FN SCAR-H
The FN SCAR-H appears as the high-tier semi-auto rifle as the "Battle Rifle" or "HAMR-17".
FN SCAR-H CQC
A CQC variant to the SCAR-H is available in the game as an alternate upgrade.
IWI Tavor TAR-21
The IWI Tavor TAR-21 appears as the "Bullpup Rifle" or the "XTAR-95" as the high-tier 3 round burst rifle.
IWI Tavor CTAR-21
The TAR-21 can be customized with a short barrel, turning it into a CTAR-21.
KRISS Vector
The KRISS Vector appears as the "Advanced SMG" or the "Keris V10", presumably as a reference to the KRISS K10 prototype. It is mainly based on the Vector Gen I, but the upper receiver lacks a horizontal vent in front of the ejection port, like the Gen II model. By default, the weapon is fitted with a stock that was seen on early versions of the 2017 Vector, albeit with some visual alterations.
Fostech Origin-12
The Fostech Origin-12 appears as the "Assault Shotgun", with the lore name "Taiga 12" (a reference to the Saiga 12, the weapon on which the Origin-12 was based). It also comes complete with a full stock instead of a brace and non-standard length barrel and handguards.
Unknown Crossbow
A crossbow appears simply as the "Crossbow" although the story in the game calls it the "Repeater X". Unlike most real world crossbows, the in-game one seemingly uses explosive bolts, most likely for balance reasons as it would not be all that useful as most weapons in-game can acquire suppressors rendering the crossbow's advantage a tad moot.
