The cylinder release is seen here a little better. I wonder if it's a Colt at all? The first revolver may be a Garate revolver, a Spanish copy of the Smith & Wesson .44 Double Action. It looks like it was mocked up as a gate loading revolver. The second one may be a Colt Pocket Positive? Or a Spanish copy? --Funkychinaman (talk) 09:57, 16 July 2015 (EDT)
- I had the idea about Garate but the side-mounted ejector rod turned me into confusion. Maybe it's really mocked up though I cannot understand the reason as the movie makers had a lot of SAA revolvers. The Pocket Positive seems a good guess, thanks. I'll look for European clone of this revolver. Greg-Z (talk) 10:01, 16 July 2015 (EDT)
- The only reason I can think of is that perhaps the actor couldn't fire quickly enough on a single action revolver? --Funkychinaman (talk) 10:12, 16 July 2015 (EDT)
The cylinder release is seen here a little better. I wonder if it's a Colt at all? Also the front side of the frame looks nearly vertical, different from typical sloped front side of frames of Colt revolvers. I had a guess about a Colt New Pocket that seems to match in size but it also has different shape of the frame. Greg-Z (talk) 15:37, 16 July 2015 (EDT)

Maxim Mock-up theory
I think that Mocked-up Maxim gun that Peterson uses in the finale was made using a sub-machine gun (Star Z45 perhaps?) as a base.
Note that protrusion at the bottom of the gun, just before the water jacket. That looks a lot like a sub-machine gun's magazine to me. (Which means that side-mounted handle may be in reality a lever linked to the trigger of the gun inside the Maxim shell.) 50AEDeagle (talk) 5:54 PM, 22 April 2019 (EDT)
