The Cuckoo (original title Kukushka) is a 2002 Russian war drama movie directed by Aleksandr Rogozhkin. The story takes place in September 1944 on the Soviet-Finnish front. Veikko, a Finnish soldier, and Ivan, a Soviet officer, meet in a small house of a Saami woman Anni.
The following weapons were used in the film The Cuckoo:
Nagant M1895
Ivan founds a Nagant M1895 revolver in a crashed Soviet plane.
Suomi KP/-31
In the opening scene a Finnish officer carries a Suomi KP/-31 SMG.
Karabiner 98k
Veikko is armed with a Karabiner 98k rifle with sniper scope. The scope isn't a German one but a Soviet VP that was used with Mosin Nagant M1891/30 rifle.
In the opening scene several German soldiers carry Karabiner 98k rifles.
Mosin Nagant M1891/30
Soviet soldiers carry Mosin Nagant M1891/30 rifles. Many of them has bayonets attached backwards. This is a exclusively cinematic practice; in reality such practice was banned by service manuals.
