The Manchurian Candidate is the 2004 feature film remake of John Frankenheimer's classic 1962 political thriller of the same name. As in the original, the plot centers around a decorated US Army soldier who is part of a powerful political family and the possibility that he may have been brainwashed after being captured during a battle (the setting is now updated to the 1991 Gulf War instead of the Korean War).
