It was designed by Boris Shpitalniy and Irinarkh Komaritsky and entered production in 1934. This machine gun had a very high rate of fire - 1800 RPM (3000 RPM in the UltraShKAS modification). It was produced in fixed version for fighter planes and in turret version for bombers.
