Jackie Chan as a Vietnam British national....they should fire the casting guy Excalibur01 (talk) 11:50, 28 June 2017 (EDT)

And so many Vietnamese-British leading men to choose from too! But seriously, are you really surprised by this? At least he's not being played by a white guy. At least they changed the title of the film. --Funkychinaman (talk) 12:26, 28 June 2017 (EDT)
Well, if they changed it to a white guy, they might as well cast Liam Neeson since this is the exact kind of revenge movie he'd sign on to. This is a real generic story no matter who the actors are. Oddly enough, the book is called The Chinaman. Wait, why is the book called The Chinaman when the guy is Vietnamese? Excalibur01 (talk) 16:16, 28 June 2017 (EDT)
I'm assuming writers can't tell the difference either. --Funkychinaman (talk) 16:37, 28 June 2017 (EDT)
"The Chinaman is not the issue here, Dude!" (sorry, just had to do it)--AgentGumby (talk) 17:21, 28 June 2017 (EDT)
The original novel states that the guy operated a Chinese restaurant and he looked East Asian. Historically, some segments of the Vietnamese populace are descendants of Chinese settlers. Ominae (talk) 22:27, 6 July 2017 (EDT)
The book makes it pretty clear why it's called The Chinaman. The character is a Vietnamese refugee, who opened a restaurant. His wife didn't believe Vietnamese food would sell as well as Chinese food, so she convinced him to open a Chinese restaurant instead of a Vietnamese one. And since basically everyone he encounters can't really tell one Asian ethnicity from another(or in some cases, don't even care, at one point someone points out to Brosnan's character that Quan is not actually a Chinaman, and is met with the reply "Who gives a fuck?"), and all they really know about him was that he owned a Chinese restaurant, they just assume he's Chinese.

Looks like an AR-18/180. --Funkychinaman (talk) 15:32, 28 June 2017 (EDT)
Interestingly all the IRA members mostly seen with standard AR-18 and one of them seemingly using Kalashnikov. Kinda accurate for the standard armament for the IRA. The customized AR-18 probably a cut-down AR-18K (A rare short version of AR-18 I think.Alex Vostox (talk)
