Unknown handgun
I am putting this gun here before I post it in the main page until I find out what it is. Anyone know?
It looks like a Taurus Pt92.
What makes you say that? Excalibur01 05:55, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
The cocking seration at the rear of the slide looks rather wide.
Then it could just be a Beretta 92 series Excalibur01 01:16, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
Look at the controls; the thing is definitely not a 92. I'm going to comb through everything I can find to see if I can narrow it down.--PistolJunkie 21:53, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
OVA 1
add some OVA1 pic,and have a unknow shotgun at OVA1 --Kin93 18:22, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
Are they GOOD quality? Excalibur01 01:53, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
I have replaced ALL of the OVA caps with my own that are from a high quality 1280x720 H264 AAC version. Excalibur01 05:06, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
APS Assault Rifle
The APS underwater assault rifle was design to function both above and under water, just as any other projectile weapons designed to function under water (H&K P11 for example can function properly above water, with even better range than under water). Therefore, it's not really strange that Revy was able to fire the APS in the sub.
Gotta love how she fangirls over it. Normally she's all "Fuck you dickwad" and stuff. Then Dutch gives her the APS and goes ":D" at sight of it.-Young_Gun
MG3
You state in the article that the MG3 was never fired in the show, but actually it was. The Nazis had an MG3 mounted on the side of their ship, and it was used to fire at Revy & Rock when they surfaced.--Phillb36 02:18, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
Desert Eagle
just an observation: Yolanda's desert eagly is probly the .357 varient- notice the size of the bore compared to her trigger-finger. unless she had rather large hands (and by large i mean half-inch diameter sausage fingers) it probaly wasnt the .50 action express version. -Dakota the Wolf 01 Sept. 2008
- Never, ever, ever use the term "DEagle" on this sight. That is amatuer gamer slang. It is a Desert Eagle, not a DEagle. It's almost as bad as calling a magazine a "clip". - Gunmaster45
Chang's Beretta 76s could be back up guns.
wasnt there a desert eagle in the bar shootout in the first episode used by the leader.
Unknown MG
I'm pretty sure it is a member of the DShK family of Russian 12.7mm heavy machine guns.
-Actually, I think it is an NSV heavy machine gun.
Gepard?
Revy's heavy sniper rifle resembles a Gepard pretty clearly in the manga. The anime version doesn't exactly match any of the images I can find of the weapon - possibly the animators aren't very familiar with it either, or maybe they have access to better sources.
Manga
- I read the whole of the manga in 2 days(starting yesterday) and My God it was the most amazing comic experience I have yet to experience.I was actually sad when I came to the end of the latest chapter and am now waiting for Rei Hiroe to upload more. -S&Wshooter 05:49, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
- I've been reading the manga too. This is a great series Excalibur01 15:55, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
- It's pretty good, though I prefer Gunsmith Cats.-protoAuthor
I've only had a couple issues between the Manga and the Anime. the Anime has everything out of order and there are guns that are in the Manga that are subsequently not in the Anime. Like the PT92 that Revy uses after onew of her Cutlasses are cut in half. Rockwolf66 00:34, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
More Guns
Hey, I recently watched the series, and noticed some guns not present in this list.
Glock - used by bounty hunters/mercenaries, most clearly seen in the part where the bounty hunters are chasing the counterfeiter and during the ensuing gunfight on the PT boat.
Browning HP type handgun- used by Yakuza, possibly other characters -seen clearly in the last episode where it's the first handgun Kosa's bodyguard hands over to Balalaika's bodyguard. Strangely it changes into a Sig Sauer P226 when he hands it over, though!
Makarov PM - used by Balalaika's bodyguard Boris and several other Hotel Moscow soldiers when they don't have AK's.
Mossberg 590 - used by the first bounty hunter to break into the counterfeiter Jane's hotel room, and a few others. Clearly a Mossberg 590 due to the barrel shroud and tang safety (which oddly looks like a hammer to a Henry lever action rifle or something, rather than the real life safety).
Remington 870 with extended magazine - used by various thugs in the series, in addition to Marine Magnums like the one Dutch uses.
Winchester 1300 Defender/Ithaca 37 with extended magazine (?) - used by Yakuza in the bowling alley.
M249 Para(?) - when Roberta drops her suitcase machine gun, it opens and for a brief second one can see a machine gun of some sort inside. It looks to me like a Minimi/M249 Para.
NSV machine gun - the heavy machine gun used by Hotel Moscow to shoot at Hänsel and Gretel is one of these, I believe.
there was a norinco type56 with synthetic furniture in episode three.
a browning m2 on a dual mount in episode three.
What is this?
Got another gun. Can anyone ID Excalibur01 00:27, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
This picture is far to simple for it to be identified. It could be any number of revolvers.ShaDow XPS
M249
I believe there's an M249 inside Roberta's suitcase
I think it was P90's in the manga
There is also a Benelli M4 at the bottom.
looks like a Defense Technologies 37mm Gas Gun is in the bottom of the case
"Rugers are seen as "bottom of the barrel" handguns." - According to what uneducated individual?
This one. Not originally but I don't have a high opinion of them. Course their not as bad as a fucking Hi-point or some shit, i'd just rather have an M1911A1. Or a beretta 92FS. Or a Sig. Or an H&K.--ConditionNone 01:54, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
If the one on top is an M249, it rivals an AKSU is length. Spartan198 10:32, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
The "AMT long slides"
Couldn't they just be long barreled Custom M1911s like James Caan had in Thief?--ConditionNone 01:55, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
Sistema?
There is no proof that her guns are Sistemas. Just because she is from South America doesn't mean she is not using one of the millions of M1911/M1911A1 pistols that are all over the world. This puts an obscure M1911 variant onto IMFDB with the thinnest of excuses. Please tell me there is more proof in the show as to what these pistols are. MoviePropMaster2008 01:00, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- Honestly, I don't know where I got the impression that they were Sistema 1911s. Excalibur01 03:29, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- I believe it says such in the manga.-protoAuthor 07:57, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
- At some point in the manga, you can see stamping on the supposed Sistemas' slides. I don't know guns well enough to tell by slide stamping, but the crest didn't look like the writing on the slide of the pictured Sistema.
- I believe it says such in the manga.-protoAuthor 07:57, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
- Do you know which chapter and page we see these markings. Since the anime is based on the manga, it should be exactly the same. Excalibur01 04:42, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
Well, there's the proof. And since the Anime is based off the manga, it should remained classed as Sistemas. Excalibur01 04:52, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
- I'm new at this gun classification business, but I've been searching around and have yet to find a single Sistema pistol with slide markings that looked like that. I found some with crests, but they were located only on the right side of the pistol, between the text and the slide serrations. The manga shows a crest I can't identify towards the front of the slide, and I can't read the text on those scans. I really don't think they're explicitly Sistemas, though feel free to prove me wrong.
I believe I read somewhere that Roberta used Argentinian Ballester Molina's, but I do not remember where I read that.
You reference the manga. They look nothing like Ballester Molina's. They are Sistema's. Period. Slide markings changed in the 1960's through to the last pistols produced. On the left sides of the slides: Fabrica Militar de Armas Portatiles – Rosario (with a circled FM) Sistema Colt Cal. 11.25mm Industria Argentina Serial numbers remained stamped on the right sides of the slides.
Boom. Dispute settled. In high quality scans of the manga you can see all the proper markings.
Annoying Picture Captions
Well I hope the title speaks for itself, but at any rate can the picture captions be fixed to something relevant to guns? Humor is alright in my book but the captions are just plain annoying and unnecessary.
Well I agree SOME of the captions are a bit long to be funny, but I think most of them are ok. Excalibur01
- They kind of fit with the whole show's attitude, really.--PistolJunkie 05:13, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
- And besides, they make me laugh. That's A+ in my book. Spartan198 07:50, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

Pistolet Maszynowy wz.63 AKA PM-63 Submachine gun
Guys, You know "Pistolet Maszynowy" in Polish mean "Submachine gun"...
More Guns
In the second episode rock uses a Webley & Scott WWI Signal Pistol, and in episodes three and fourteen there are M2 Browning machine guns both single and in the twin mounted variant.
- I thought there is a picture of dual mounted M2s. I forgot about the flare pistol Rock used in episode 2. I didn't really see that as a firearm Excalibur01 04:27, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
no Beretta
Revy is the only charter in the Anime using Beretta 92FS. Rex 095
Mr. Chang wields two Beretta 76 .22 LR claiber handguns in the manga in stade of Colt .45s.
he could use .22 claiber handguns so show how good of a markman he his to kill someone with one shot form a small claiber gun.
Or the creator behind the picking of the guns didn't know a .22 with a 9mm. But getting shot with a .22 and dying from it is a harder death Excalibur01 00:01, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
Chang uses the Beretta 76's as his main weapon throughout the manga, the 1911's he uses in the one shootout are his bodygaurds backups. Rei Hiroe, the manga creator, knew that they were .22s from the beginning. It is mentioned in a later manga chapter, not released in the U.S. yet, that a couple of years before the manga takes place he and Balalaika had a shootout and she mentions getting hit with several .22 rounds.
- I know, I read the manga, translated online. Excalibur01
No manga
Until they make another season, do not post manga shots of guns that have not been in the anime so far like the grenade launcher and shotgun of the other maid. I have a manga shot of Roberta's spas-12 because I havent found a good shot of it in the Anime Excalibur01
- Why not? Who made you pope of wiki-town?
- He IS one of the admins, and there is a long-standing no print media rule. --Funkychinaman 22:53, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
- Well, that's a fucking retarded rule. There's tons of gun-heavy comics, mangas and books out there that could use this kind of treatment. Ever read a detective novel and wonder what the main character's gun's supposed to look like? Ever read a manga and wonder if that thing in the character's hand is real or just imagined by the artist?
- Hey User 72.244.206.60! Guess what? I don't care what rules you think are retarded or not. If you really want a Manga site then create your own Internet Manga Firearms Data Base then. Until then, dial back on your attitude or else. MoviePropMaster2008 18:46, 21 March 2010 (UTC) (Another ADMIN here).....
But this site is Internet Movie Firearms Database. It implies movies, TV, anything on the screen, which can include games. Not books and manga. Excalibur01
To User 72.244.206.60: Please observe this rule that is posted in CLEAR VIEW on the Rules, Standards and Principles page the next time you talk smack on here:
"Moving Visual Media Only, no books or Manga allowed
This site started as the Internet MOVIE Firearms Database. It expanded to included Television shows, and then Anime (which are themselves either movies and television shows with very specific and accurate gun depictions) and then Video Games. Entries within these four genres are the only titles, screencaps or listings that are allowed on IMFDB. Non moving visual media like graphics novels, comics or Manga are not allowed regardless of how good the firearms artwork is."
Yeah, I though you'd might like to know this. --ThatoneguyJosh 07:16, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
- You realize that this discussion segment has been dead for 8 months, right? "Contributing" to it doesn't do anything.--PistolJunkie 18:32, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
Picture Error
The second picture under the CZ-75 is incorrectly labeled as Takenaka shooting at Ibraha. He is in fact shooting at Revy during that scene.
Hand Grenade
What kind of hand grenade is that appears in Episode 11? Mr. Chang kicks it back to the throwers in the gunfight with the militia men... Flinx 20:34, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
Revy's Berettas
I was rewatching the anime the other day and in the opening credits there is a view of Revy's Berettas and the markings say 92F not FS.
- The problem is the the only Inox that is listed is the FS one. Excalibur01 01:52, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
There was never a 92F offered in stainless steel, the only stainless Beretta 92 Series pistols are post 92F. It can be assumed that her pistols are stock Beretta 92F's that have just been heavily customized and finished with either nickel or chrome plating (the have never declared the guns were stainless steel in the anime as far as I can remember so that is still possible). This theory is further strengthened since her guns don't possess factory style rollmarks (which makes sense since they don't have factory length slide assemblies), and she refers to one of them as "a Beretta M92 Custom, the Praiyachat Sword Cutlass Special" at the end of Episode 23. Either it is a custom gun from the ground up, which isn't too farfetched, or it's an error on the animator's and Hiroe's part (who based the guns on the Taurus PT92s from Romeo + Juliet) which seems more likely. Still, the customization thing is a good and solid explanation of why they say 92F and not 92FS. --Yournamehere 06:16, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
So what should we call Revy's gun? A Custom 92? 19:08, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
That is a problem. Should we link it to the 92F with a note that it is probably chrome or nickel plated? GaBoy45 19:51, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
I would do that, and keep the Sword Cutlass image up there as well. --Yournamehere 05:44, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Missed Guns
I spotted a few guns not in the article, both from Season 2 Episode 2. Hansel carries a pair of what I think are Smith and Wesson Bodyguards in a dual shoulder rig under his coat, and Verrochio draws a Beretta 92 at one point when confronting the Twins. -- K 98.118.59.151 23:51, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
Technically the second season is lumped in with the first, so I am assuming you are talking about the 14th episode. Excalibur01 02:09, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
And looking at them now, they seem too small to be S&W Bodyguards and Verrochio doesn't look like he's holding a 92. Caps are below to compare. Excalibur01 02:16, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
Smith & Wesson 642's maybe. They are certainly not the older model bodyguard, they have a pronounced rounded frame over the grip.
I don't know. They look an awful lot like S&W Bodyguards but could also be Centennial models. As for Verrochio's gun looks like a Taurs PT-92 to me. Looks like it has a frame mounted safety.GaBoy45 05:32, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
The slide doesn't fit the profile of a 92. Look at Revy's gun and compared it to this gun. It's too flat and we don't see the smooth exposed barrel Excalibur01 13:24, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
The very end looks like a nubbin of an exposed barrel along with the slide shape, and cocking serrations looks like maybe a poorly drawn version of the PT-92. It just doesn't look enough like anything else to me. GaBoy45 15:03, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
It's a Bernardelli P-018--PistolJunkie 15:04, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
Pretty sure PistolJunkie just nailed that one. And I'm leaning towards Centennial's for Hansel's guns. -- K98.118.59.151 18:54, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
Moved From Main Page
Though there are AK-47's seen all over the anime, I also think there's Norinco Type 56's thrown into the mix as well. This is determined by the hooded front sight seen on the majority of the assault rifles. That would also make sense since Black Lagoon takes place in Thailand (though the town itself is fictional), it would more likely be that there's more Type 56's than AK-47s, except for in the hands of the Russian Mafia members. -DJ T-Tom

The new OVA is currently out and I've capped most of the new guns like the Barret in action. Will post them soon Excalibur01 07:52, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
One question: In the first screencap of the modified Barret, it has the M82A1 scope mount, but in the second pic its gone. Was that overlooked or does that have a reason?
The first screenshot is from the "next episode" preview at the end of the first OVA (you'll notice the detail is much lower in that shot as opposed to the next few screencaps), so odds are they just opted to remove it. It's a relatively minor detail, and removing it makes the rifle easier to animate.--PistolJunkie 05:55, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
M82 W/Grenade Launcher
Was about to change the grenade launcher that Roberta uses under her M82 from a DefTech to a Milkor based on the shape of the rear receiver, but then realised the launcher wasn't a Milkor either. After a bit of digging have found that it appears to be based on an airsoft grenade launcher that I have found being sold by several different companies, with minor differences in barrel length and grips.
The give away is the location of the release lever the top of the receiver behind the chambers. Also, note that from the right hand side view of the 5KU launcher, even the location of the screws/pins tallies with that shown in the second screen shot. The rail along the top is also visible in the above cropped and brightened version of the screen shot, which incidentally would also make the launcher easier to attach to the underside of a rifle.. The only thing missing is the hinge/frame at the bottom of the drum, but this was likely omitted for ease of animation. The thing is though, is this airsoft launcher a generic design not based on anything in-particular and a design in and of itself, or is there a real grenade launcher that looks like this? --commando552 00:32, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
Anime Guns
I just love the detail these anime shows put into the guns. I mean, they don't have to, considering it's a cartoon, but they still do.
As an Anime fan, there's a difference between a "cartoon" and Anime. Excalibur01 04:28, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
Possible Colt Army Model 1860?
On the wall with antique guns, second picture under "Flintlock Rifle", the revolver appears to be a Colt Army Model 1860 (go into full view of the image). The cylinder and barrel matches exactly. If anything, it appears to be some model of it, if not a standard one. Taking it's Animefied appearance into account, i am almost completely certain.
Anyone want to confirm it first or should i just go ahead and add it?
Btw, i'm new here, how do i make my username show up, or even create a user page for me?
Edit: Same guy again here, i made a mistake, after further examination i believe it is a Colt Walker Model 1847. The barrel differs it from an 1860, and the trigger guard looks like an 1847 rather than the successor 1848. I think it's a Colt Walker Model 1847. Anyone else?
If you can what that is, go ahead and add it. Make sure the screen cap is good quality Excalibur01 14:10, 4 February 2012 (CST)
So i can just freely add if i feel certain, got it, thanks.

Hind-A Mystery Gun
Was watching the first episodes of the series, and at one point noticed that the Mi-24 Hind-A that attacks Lagoon Company's torpedo boat has a single-barreled machine gun mounted in the nose, in place of the standard Yakushev-Borzov Yak-B 12.7mm gatling gun. It's hard to believe that such an egregious error could be made in an anime with such meticulous attention to detail when it comes to weapons. Orca1 9904 (talk) 21:28, 19 September 2014 (EDT)

Eda's Glock
The pistol which is used by Eda isn't a Glock 17L because it lacks a visible recoil spring assembly.--VLAD M (talk) 08:36, 8 January 2016 (EST) Eda's Glock:
- Uhhh.... It's Animation mistake ? I also look to the Glock 34. She has a Glock 17L In the original comic's pictures.--KINKI'boy (talk) 01:09, 9 January 2016 (EST)
- I assume that by "visible recoil spring assembly" you mean the semi-cylindrical part on the bottom half of the slide which protrudes ahead of the frame? Firstly, this part doesn't actually contain the recoil spring as the Glock 17L's spring and guide rod is the same as the normal 17's so it ends at the front of the frame. I do not think that the slide actually needs this part, it is just kind of there for cosmetic and ease of manufacture reasons. Regardless, this part of the slide is there on the above image, it is just that it appears too short. If you look at the other images it looks more correct, so I think it is just the case of the scaling and proportions being inconsistent, what with it being animation. What is wrong in the above image however is the fact that the end of the guide rod is visible at the front of the slide. On any of the long slide Glock models the guide rod ends at the front of the slide, and the slide just has a hole to allow it to clear the guide rod as it recoils (you can see this on the above G17L image). --commando552 (talk) 12:03, 8 January 2016 (EST)
HMG Identification antics
So I boredly flick through pages when I have time to kill, and I noticed another oddity. I'm fairly certain the Hotel Moscow men are using a NSV mounted rather than a DSHk. It has the same buttstock, something the DSHk lacks, plus the whole gun from receiver to muzzle break matches the NSV. I doubt it'd be a Kord HMG given that the Kord didn't get released until 1991 and I doubt any group would be able to smuggle one out at that time. Plus it'd fit better with Hotel Moscow's arsenal of 70's and 80's ComBloc equipment than a DSHk. --PaperCake 22:05, 12 December 2017 (EST)
