It's possibly maybe a wick of the matchlock. Due the speedy burning, the wicks were a very long (more the meter). Such long wicks were inconvenient for carry, so it were coiled around the buttstocks. I can't say exactly on this shot, so, can be this gun seen from other angle? If I see a few more screenshots, I possibly shall help with ID. :I guess that it is so called "sibirka", a general nickname of flintlock or percussion cap hunting rifles (yes, with rifled barrel), popular among native Siberian hunters in XIX century. Winchester Model 1892 ?
I'm not sure that I had identified this rifle correctly. It's barrel and stock are a little different from the M92. Please help to identify it. Thanks! Greg-Z 00:25, 26 January 2012 (CST)
Chukcha's guns
In this shot it's not seen clear, but I have some guess
It's possibly maybe a wick of the matchlock. Due the speedy burning, the wicks were a very long (more the meter). Such long wicks were inconvenient for carry, so it were coiled around the buttstocks. I can't say exactly on this shot, so, can be this gun seen from other angle? If I see a few more screenshots, I possibly shall help with ID. Pyramid Silent (talk) 14:41, 9 November 2017 (EST)
