Colt Carbines (Not M16s)

I haven't seen the entire season yet, but that's not an image of an M16A2. Also we need to point out if they are A2, it would be anachronistic Excalibur01 (talk) 02:04, 3 November 2017 (EDT)

Concur that the M16 section is wrong. I did watch the show, and saw zero M16s, and instead only carbines.
They may have been M4s which would be wrong, but at least one looked like it had a properly small diameter barrel to be a Colt 603, or similar.
Some looked like they were very wrong, and had RIS on the front (though it was dark), but they all had carry handles, no scopes or RDS.
The team that went into the tunnels had scope mounts on the carry handle with (unidentified, but maybe D cell Maglight size) flashlights up there, which was a delightfully period correct feature to see.
The carbine used by Hopper in the last episode had some sort of light on the forearm. Placement and light throw reminded me of M500, but it was dark and/or glarey so hard to tell.

In the last episode, it looked like some kind of carbine. Fixed carrying handle, so point for that but it's got a RIS handguard so...point off. The light was just his handlight. Excalibur01 (talk) 13:48, 4 November 2017 (EDT)

Also, was about to deduct a point for having a HUMVEE roll out but the year is 1984, the year it entered service, so that's possible. Excalibur01 (talk) 13:48, 4 November 2017 (EDT)

They're Model 723s with anachronistic quad rails, and one has a Crane stock for some reason.--Mandolin (talk) 22:21, 2 December 2017 (EST)
The Carbines are modern iterations of AR-15s with current parts and attachments like Knight's Armament Company quad rail handguards and M4 LE and/or Crane buttstocks. Soldiers and MPs seem to use the Colt M4A1 with M203 grenade launchers and Bushmaster HBAR carbines as their standard weapon, which Hopper notably get his hands on one of the Bushmaster HBARs. - MrJDK9412 (talk 01:17, 7 June 2022 (AEST)

Shotgun

ID'd as an Ithaca, but it looks to have a different shaped pump grip, different tube endcap style and a visible eject port on the right. I'd have to say this is actually a extended tube Winchester 1200/1300. StanTheMan (talk) 13:32, 7 November 2017 (EST)

Nope, Ithaca 37. No ejection port on the side, pump handle is right, muzzle is right.--Mandolin (talk) 18:15, 2 December 2017 (EST)
I was talking about the cap of the extended tube shotgun held by the Chicago cop, which though a quick and somewhat blurry shot clearly has an eject port, making it not an Ithaca. StanTheMan (talk) 21:40, 18 February 2018 (EST)

Chief Hopper's revolver

I'm not sure what he's supposed to be using. He has a Python in some scenes and then in 2x5 "Dig Dug" the revolver randomly switches between a Python and what might be a Model 19, but the scene is terrible for screencapping.--Mandolin (talk) 22:21, 2 December 2017 (EST)

The Model 19 - which is actually a stainless Model 66 like he carried in S1 - I think is just used as a (perhaps stunt) stand-in for the Python. Ultimately it pretty much just boils down to continuity error there. That said, I have a couple screens showing the gun that are decent enough to use (along with a couple others to add), I'll see if I can get a free minute to load 'em up tomorrow.
