The Saxon M1873 Army revolver (Sachsen Reichsrevolver M1873) is a service revolver, designed and put into service in the Kingdom of Saxony. It is based on the Smith & Wesson Model 2 revolver and became the first German revolver to use a metallic cartridge. The revolver was manufactured in 1873 to 1878 by F Langenhahn in Zella-Mehlis in two models: the M1873 and slightly improved M1874.
